Hi Seetal, loved watching your video on this IKEA hack. Well done. What is the size of the table tops that you used. I would like to make one like this for myself. Thanks.

Fantastic sewing table hack video! I've found that using carpenter's glue before screwing/nailing or even using dowels to put things together helps support & stabilize the furniture I build. I use it with everything I build, whether particle board, MDF, or dimensional lumber to maintain square & structural integrity. I love the support lumber idea to keep the pieces secure. I haven't seen others use them but it's definitely something I will do! Thank you!

Very clever. An inspiration to me for sure to invest in some ikea shelving and tabletops for a new work center in my sewing room. Thank you for sharing.

Great Video. Just wish you would have put links to both the IKEA cube units and the tops. You did EXACTLY what I’ve been wanting to do except I was going to put them on TOP of a piece of plywood to help strengthen the wheels from coming out in case they caught on anything. Those cubes are just pressed wood, and for most part will hold up, but I was going to do that as a just in case. Thank for the great video.

This was the best and easiest video I’ve seen compared to the few other videos I’ve watched. What size is the table I don’t have a lot of space but I have several bookshelves units that I am interested in using to make a table with.

awww.... Ive seen some people make this with the 4 cube ikea kallax shelves. Its not as big but would be great for a cutting and ironing space.

Thank you so much for sharing this! I live in a small space but want to make this work for me. One question: is the table too high for you to sew using the sewing machine foot pedal? I only have room for one table and want to make it magically both high enough to cut out patterns while standing, but low enough to sit and sew, using the foot pedal. It's a tough thing to figure out! ;)

Sorry I somehow missed your comment. The table is high. I stand and sew.

does it wobble when you sew on the table? I worry that would be the case. About to make my new table next week and worry about its stability, shaking when sewing. Thanks!
@SeetalMD Жыл бұрын
Hi there. No it doesn’t wobble at all because the ikea kallax shelves are very sturdy and heavy also, I can lock my wheels in place.
