This kzbin.infoUgkxATHBlMJwipGgVWseuAFKvDQ_5R4_lywo unit was an easy install and turned out amazing. The dimensions were exact! I took a chance and built the wall prior to receiving the unit which arrived sooner than expected and it fit right in the space I constructed. The heat output is perfect for the space we needed and made the room exactly how we envisioned it to turn out. I am happy to answer any questions to the best of my ability. I love what you did with the fireplace, so crafty & skillful.. the electric fireplace may not be real, but it works just great without the smoke, ashes, etc.. being that I grew up with real fireplaces. I am in a NY condo now no chimney.. lol..and long for an LED fireplace with lighting & design options within a mantle that you can build yourself. That's great.. You helped me decide to just go for it. I have one suggestion, I would change the (home picture) to something that will pop right next to that fantastic fireplace that you have put together. Something that relates to the theme of the room. 👍 🤩

@HealthyGroceryGirl2 жыл бұрын
Hello Mayra, Aaron here answering from Megan's account. Apologies for not answering sooner. The fireplace is designed to be inside the wall so the "vents" on the top are going to wind up covered somewhat, but I would suggest leaving as much gap as possible. The vents on ours do not have any wood directly over them. Also, I do not believe much heat comes from them, when you run the heater it blows out the front of the fireplace. Hope this helps!

Hi, how did you finish with the gap between the shiplap and wall trim at the bottom since there's a big gap, I didn't see in the video. Many thanks
@HealthyGroceryGirl Жыл бұрын
Hi Joey (Aaron here) there is a gap between the shiplap and baseboard on both sides, on the right hand side I filled it with caulk. The left side which you can see in the video is a bigger gap, has not been filled.The reason it is big and still open is because behind my fireplace is the ethernet outlet for our living room, I have an ethernet cable connected (you can see this in the video) and my plan was to run this cable over to our tv to have a connection better than wifi. But since upgrading our Roku, that no longer seems necessary. I just have not dealt with it since, we mostly keep a basket of kids toys in that corner so it is not noticeable. Long answer to say use caulk :-)

We love this fireplace and ordered the exact same one from Modern Blaze with your link provided. It arrived today and it did not come with the thick black magnetic outer frame, instead it came with a pewter thin frame. I was assuming the additional frame option came with it. Did you purchase a different frame separately? This changes the look drastically and we do not like it without it. Thanks for your help!

Same here, mine didn’t come with the outer frame! :( were you able to Hunt one down?

Hi! We did not purchase a separate frame, the one you see in our video and photos is the only frame that came with the fireplace. I clicked on the link for our fireplace again after reading your comment and it and it is hard to tell just from the images but it looks like maybe Dynasty Fireplaces (the maker of the fireplace) I looked around on the Modern Blaze website and found a different fireplace that looks more like ours with the thick black magnetic frame and it also has the ability to be controlled by your phone! Maybe you can exchange what you have for the one that looks more like the one we have / seen in our video?! Some details below... modernblaze.com/collections/all/products/dynasty-harmony-bef-built-in-linear-electric-fireplace This is the model we have, but the frame appears to have been changed from a thick magnetic frame to a thinner permanently attached frame. modernblaze.com/collections/all/products/dynasty-cascade-built-in-linear-smart-electric-fireplace?variant=32195044311134 This is a different model, but looks more like the one we have with a thick black magnetic frame

@@Macarthurmaintenance Hi! I replied to the original comment with some details on this! Hope it helps!!

Hi, I reached out to Modern Blaze and received the following response: "Yes, the frame piece has changed to a thinner one than the one shown in the blog. Unfortunately, the manufacturer no longer carriers the old trim kit for it". I reviewed the Dynasty website and the options that do have a thicker kit show a very different display compared to the nicer one on this channel. I was really hoping that I could buy the exact fireplace....
@cloudywoudy1946 Жыл бұрын
@@HealthyGroceryGirl We ended up immediately reaching out to the manufacturer and they were able to ship out the original frame like yours at no cost, but that was 2 years ago, soon after my original post. I doubt that is an option anymore. The newer frame we originally received is more for a recessed look and won't cover rough shiplap edges. Since we wanted shiplap, we lucked out :)

Awesome build! What are the fireplace distance from the floor and how high did you mount the mantle? I'm looking to rework our fireplace with an electric one like this.
@HealthyGroceryGirl2 жыл бұрын
Hello Jason. Aaron here answering from Megan's account. I based the fireplace and mantle height off of where the shiplap gaps fell. So it really depends on the exact dimensions of the shiplap you use. But for ours, the center of the fireplace is about 26.5 inches from the floor and the center of the mantle is about 53 inches from the floor. Hope this helps!

Please help!! What type of metal pole did you use for your mantle? Did you add the wood block at the base as the support to hold the poles or did you drill the pole into the framework where the stud was?
@HealthyGroceryGirl2 жыл бұрын
Aaron here... apologies for the late reply. The metal pole is just electrical conduit; cheap, easy to cut and strong enough. I used wood blocks at the base. I did not know exactly where they would line up, so blocks worked better than pre-drilled holes in the framework. Cheers!

How did you cut the corners to match up at 45 degrees?

Aaron here... I used a chop saw angled at 45. Some of the shiplap boards are not exactly flat, and that caused imperfect corners, but once it is up, those imperfect corners are less noticeable. How this helps!

Hello Colleen. Aaron here answering from Megan's account. Apologies for the late reply. Yes, it is floating on top of the floor. I do not know the cost exactly, as I never buy everything I need at one time. It looks like the top of the fireplace had some vents (not the ones for heat, but like exhaust vents), you covered those with 2x4 over them; is that right? thanks
@HealthyGroceryGirl3 жыл бұрын
I am not sure what those vents are for, electric fireplaces do not need to exhaust anything. However, they did not get covered up. If you stop the video at 8:32-minutes and you can see how they are in relation to the framing :)
