Great video, thank you! I just made them, I only have a tray of 6 molds. And a lot of mix left over. Will it keep in the bowl until my molds set and I can keep making more? How long will the mix be good for outside of the mold?

Keep your extra mix in a container with a tight fitting lid. You might have to spritz it one more time but it should keep well until used.

So are these basically just the same as bath bombs but now called shower steamers
@JanetFayard2 ай бұрын
No, a bath bomb usually has some kind of oil or butter to condition the skin while you are immersed in water. One of the reasons ppl add polysorbate 80 to a b.bomb, so the ring of oil around the tub ( along with colorant, botanicals and glitter ) isn't as heavy or doesn't stick to ur tub as much. Shower steamers just add an aromatherapy boost.
@monymon69013 жыл бұрын
Why does it need the citric acid?
@Sooz12342 жыл бұрын
Citric acid reacts with the baking soda to fizz enough to gradually release the fragrance into the shower air. No fizz, no release of oil into the air, just down the drain. Might try lemon juice?

Came here looking for a solution to this. I used sooooo much essential oil in like my third batch and still couldn’t smell anything. Wish I knew what else to do
@elainerichards7970 Жыл бұрын
It’s hard to smell just essential oils. Dissolve menthol crystals in alcohol and use in the place of essential oils and witch hazel. Or put the steamer in a small bag attached to the shower head so the smell is closer to your nose.
@jannayourlender10 ай бұрын
Mine came out Perfect!! I did add a few more drops of both scents -still formed perfectly
@sarahterry936110 ай бұрын
So shower steamers are bath bombs. OK now I understand. Cuz I am already making bath bombs haha
@JanetFayard2 ай бұрын
No, there not just bath bombs. They're more simple- no butters or oils, no polysorbate 80, no glitter ( unless you want it but it's just going to wash down the drain). Bath bombs are color art with glitter and colorant, sometimes botanicals or some other object inside, essential oils and skin softening ingredients. Shower steamers just add an aromatherapy boost....bcz u just stand in a shower and don't immersed yourself in water.

If you don’t have witch hazel, water should fine. But she doesn’t use the alcohol with menthol crystals ( a necessity for shower steamers) so I would think if you mix alcohol with the menthol crystal it should work ? I was taught the witch hazel is more for bath bombs.

Your wasting your mica. Mix your mica with your Eo and mix together. This will give you a fast color without wasting. Unless. Your mica was low grade level. None the less.... You could have used 1/8 teaspoon instead of half the bottle. Once. You add your liquid it will darken
