i think harlequin rasboras because i have 6 and they are so bold and outgoing compared to the tetras i have with them. So i think they would be perfect and they live in similar areas in the wild. Also i love how they smash micro pellet or crushed flake of the surface. Thanks for another great vid

What type of wood is all of that? Can I just grab it from the scrub? Where is aus are you from

I would suggest getting it from a park and not a conservation area. I am from south east Queensland 👍
@janellechew61932 жыл бұрын
Hi Justin what do you do to prepare your tree limbs to be safe for your tank?
@JustinsFishRoom2 жыл бұрын
Hi there Janelle! Great question. I pressure hose them very thoroughly and scrub them in a tub with a type of environmentally friendly dog shampoo that is eucalyptus based. I then wash them with tap water 🙂

Justin ! I have dark knight that have laid eggs, hatched and are now swimming for about 3 days, I have the parents in the aquarium taking care of the fry, noticing a small a few dead fry floating around the aquarium, I've being feeding the fry (powder food) mixed in Lil water with micro worms and a Lil bbs, is it normal to see a few fry dead ? and when should I be worried ?
@JustinsFishRoom2 жыл бұрын
Hi there mate! Yes, completely normal to have a drop off rate of ~10%

Any tips on my first batch of eggs with my Dark knights? Don't have the extra tank to remove parent, being told by the breeder I bought the pair from they're good parents and I actually want to see them raise the fry.
@JustinsFishRoom2 жыл бұрын
Under your circumstances I would definitely let the parents raise the fry but make sure you can keep enough plant cover for the fry to forage off. Also you will want to keep an eye on the pair as they may eat the fry if they decide they want to breed again:)
