Great video Justin!, the Melanotaenia duboulayi vary a bit from waterway to waterway in their range the banding on the one in your tank is probably just a bit of stress, great catch, I'm glad you are doing it responsibly we have a lot of nice spots local to us, the Eastern Rainbow (Melanotaenia splendida) don't start until up around the Gladstone region and the Ornate Rainbow (Rhadinocentrus ornatus) is found in more the wollum or heathland areas with a few exceptions around here but the ones that aren't are pretty endangered so shouldn't be targeted, if you are targeting fish as feeders make sure they are quarantined well as a lot of areas around the city limits have a lot of nasties, and don't use Gambusia for feeders or any other noxious fish as there are large fines for getting caught with them in your possession even if it's for feeding, by law they should be destroyed and disposed of, swordtails, platy, and wild Guppy is fine for use, Thanks for the great video I enjoyed that and Subbed 🙂

Great new content! something that is really interesting and unique. Looking forward to the next wild catching rainbows. If i may give a few tips how i would enjoy the video even more: - Underwater (closeup)shots - More shots from the environment. It's interesting to see what kind of plants, substrate or other stuff there are in waters Australia. - Bring a small see through container to show the fish you catch and release. - trying (multiple) traps with different baits. - a (clear)picture and name from the fish you think you caught. Maybe some improvements on the Quality of the video. It looks like im watching a hearing a 480p video. Hope it helps. Cheers.

Loved the video. Did you also quarantine the fish you feed to the Oscars? Years ago when I raised Oscars, I used to feed them minnows directly from the fish bait shop. In retrospect, I have wondered it that was a good idea, although I never had a problem from it. Wondering your prospective.
@JustinsFishRoom2 жыл бұрын
Yes 👍 I made sure to quarantine all fish that are fed to the Oscar’s. Even though the creek system is very healthy and the fish are healthy, I make sure to get rid of any parasites etc.
