You did not have to make this video but you took your precision time to show us. And for that, THANK YOU !

I am SO grateful for this video! I've been wanting sisterlocks for a long time now but the only thing I was a little skeptical about was maintaining them myself. I do hair but I don't know much about locks except for twisting styling and retightening larger locks. You just made the process make so much more sense to me. (HUGE weight lifted off of my shoulders) Thanks to you and your sister for this tutorial!

***** I'm so glad we could help ! It can be hard doing them yourself, I still maintain my sister's otherwise it takes too long , she can't see the lines etc, but it's great if you can do them yourself too :)

Do you think it's best to start locks by twisting, braiding or interlocking?

Agh!! Rotation depends upon rate of growth! Good to know, I thought if you were a 3 rotation you always had to be a 3 or 4 or two. So it's completely possible to start with a 2 point rotation for the entire process and then move to 3 or 4?

The rotation is determined by the type curl pattern your hair has. I have sisterlocks and they were installed by a consultant and they give you that information when you go for your consultation.

I thought a 3pt was 9, 6, 9, 12.

going downward is NOT a 6 it is a 12. the number is taken from where you enter NOT where you end up. so a 12 will end in the down position a 6 will come out at the 12 position and your lock will be sticking up in the air.

+queenbeethatsme100 Alright. It doesn't really matter; this is a video, you can clearly see that the loc ends facing downwards not sticking up. As I said in the video, the important thing is that the final rotation is in the direction you want the loc to lay.

She got them started professionally? Once you started doing it for her, you had to find out the pattern the loctician started her out with in order for u to continue to retighten them right?
