Diamond Reese Here’s the link: www.oraje.com/o-locker I bought both the micro and medium but only used the micro because the medium was too big for the base of my sisterlocks.

Nice job! You will get better and faster over time... I do my own retightening... I usually get a bottle of wine and put on Netflix... it normally takes me about 5-6 hours (455 sl)... I'm used to doing my own hair... I did my own individual braids with extensions so I'm very comfortable with feeling around the back of my head... practice will get you there... Your hair is beautiful!

Hi Lavenia, I'm going into my 6th month (February 12th) and my retie is scheduled for the 10th of February. Well I have to much going on and now is the time for me to start to retightening my locs and I'm soooo nervous, but excited at the same time! Your video is the only one that has actually explain about the hairs being in the way and locs tied together and this one, to make sure to wet your hair to untangle them! I'm still so scared, lol, but I knew I was eventually gonna retightening them myself that I purchased the orjae about 2 months before I got my sisterlocks. I have looked at sooo many videos and you also scalps is soooo clear, mine is not ready yet for retightening and my scalps is covered with hair all in my scalp!!! How do you make sure to clear your scalp (if I'm saying that right) making sure you are not adding more hair to one loc? Or will the spraying the loc help clean it up and make it easier, please help, I have 11 days to get it together, lol😳 I'm so sorry that this is so long!
@lavenialivinglife4 жыл бұрын
Hey! It's ok! So I'm not a pro fyi, haha. If you want to try self retightening, I say go for it! Just make sure you know your rotation info so you can stick with it (4 point, clockwise for example). Using water/rose water has definitely made separating much easier. To control the frizziness, I wear a hair cap almost all the time at home and hands off! To revive my parts & to make sure I'm not grabbing extra hair, I use metal hair clips, especially in the front. For the back, I go off feel so I'm sure my parts aren't as straight but that's ok 😊. Most importantly, just take your time! I give myself 2 days so I don't stress myself out. Do a couple, see how you feel & if you're comfortable, proceed!

I've been thinking about doing my own reti since I hit the 1yr mark, it'll be 2yrs 6/24/18. My sched gets crazy too. I see nothing wrong with also being in control of your hair. I don't feel like those in the SL community should be dependent on a consultant or trainee alone b/c they have a life too. I luv my consultant (well my 2nd one, she's awesome) the 1st one I had to ✂️ ties & her trainee) but sometimes things happen (within her control or beyond) . So kudos to you for being so brave to do your own. For your o locker tool what size did you get again? When I ordered mines I saw the mega micro, micro, medium & then large? I ordered mega micro (extra small) & micro (small). You kept saying small then medium, so I was getting confused
@lavenialivinglife6 жыл бұрын
mrsteacake I got the micro and the medium size, mainly using the micro size. Yeah I’m sure I confused quite a few people! Sorry about that😊 It’s empowering being able to do it yourself if you have to. Let me know how it goes for you!

lavenialivinglife Ohh, I thought you weren't allowed to shown the method? Is it the same method consultants use to retighten?
@lavenialivinglife6 жыл бұрын
Keyasha terry You can’t share whatever is taught in the class if you take the class. I can’t say for sure if the technique is the exact same. I watched how other ladies with sisterlocks retightened their hair and did the same.

Does your hair have to be wet? Is it better to retight with wet hair? Btw, Awesome Job!!!

Why don't you find someone more local to do your hair? Do you ever accidentally catch the hairs from other locks? Do you wait very long in between retightenings? I can't really trust myself to do my own retightenings or to cut my hair!!! Lol How long after you got your sisterlocks installed did you start doing your own retightenings? Did you have to take the reti class, or did you just learn from other people? Sorry about all the questions lol I have been thinking about maybe doing my own hair, to save on money, cause this ish be expensive hunny!!! Lol Looks gorgeous though!!!❤❤❤😍😍😍new subbie alert!!! Lol
@lavenialivinglife6 жыл бұрын
*cracks knuckles lol* Unfortunately there's no one locally that's certified or even a trainee. I did accidentally combined a few while I was retightening and panicked initially but managed to get it mostly separated and cut the few strands that remained. This is my first time self-retightening. I've only had sisterlocks for 10 months. I did not take the class. KZbin can teach you almost anything, ha! I did talk to my consultant about doing my own hair though because of my schedule. She told me what my rotation was (4-point). After the fact, I asked her in what direction and thankfully I did the same (cw). No worries about the questions! I understand wanting to save money. It adds up! Thank you!! & welcome!⭐️👸🏾
