Weird tip: some jeweler's rouge (I use the white kind you get at leatherwork supply places) and a strip of veg tan leather and you can strop your craft blades like a straight razor and keep em super sharp for... well I haven't run out of blades yet, but it's nice not to have to buy them again and again. Steel doesn't need to be a single use product.
@queenofbuttercream5 ай бұрын
That's actually a cool tip. It's like the way barbers would sharpen their straight blades for their razors
@MyFroggyStuff5 ай бұрын
Sorry if I didn’t explain it well 😅 I meant that it needs to be sharp but I do use the blade until it starts to shred my foam board, for me that is usually a few months them I continue to use the for multi purpose projects like paper and wood crafts where I can resharpen the blades as needed… however I have not had the results I wanted with resharpened blades on foam board but that is just my experience and yours could be different… but no, my blades are definitely not single use 😅 I used some until they break
@lorrainemunoa7915 ай бұрын
@@MyFroggyStuff You're always so good at using resources! I find a sharpener to be okay but I feel like I can get a like-new edge with the strop. It does take a minute or two though. I love my sharpener for scissors- nothing like a fresh edge.

I know you get comments like this CONSTANTLY Toya but.. its insane to me how long ive been an AVID fabsome bestie. I started watching when I was 11, I’m 23 now. I remember making a doll lamp with a toothpick and beads and one of those little ketchup cups from fast food joints. You taught me the basics of sewing, doubling up the thread, basic stitches, and securing a knot. I remember making a thanksgiving meal for my Littlest Pet Shops with craft foam. Using tin foil balls for baked potatoes

Oh man, no matter what I do, I never, ever get a clean cut with foam board. Brand new blade, press down firmly on the ruler, cut directly along that ruler with the blade... still shredded and uneven foam board. I tend to use cardboard lol That Pokemon makeup is adorable! This vanity looks wonderful in your closet! I love it all!

Thought you might like to know that if you print things out on glossy brochure paper, which is a little stiffer than normal paper, then you don't have to cover every thing with packing tape to give it that shiny look. I got mine from Amazon.

Do you find a significant difference between dollar store foam board and Michaels? I assume Michaels is much sturdier, maybe cuts cleaner? I think it would be helpful to know, as in my other crafting experiences, I thought I couldn't do something until I realized I was just using crap products that were making it difficult.
