Thank you for sharing this! I'm truly inspired to make the best of our bathroom and do a couple little things to make it better. I'm dreaming of the day I can renovate our boring 1960's builder-grade master bathroom, but those dreams cost money!

I know exactly what you mean! Those builder-grade bathrooms can be a challenge, but small updates can make a big difference.

Oh your persistence is admirable. It is so easy to become discouraged and the conversation will stay with your daughter for a long time, I am sure. Nice job, and the trim around the peel and stick tiles looks really good, perfect finishing touch. We finally put liquid soap and shampoo wall dispensers in our shower, the hang on the wall and you press a button to dispense the item. So much better for us, we used a perforated basket on the shower floor previously. The dispenser just stuck to the tile.

It looks gorgeous but how about changing out those bright gold hooks?
@GraceInMySpace3 күн бұрын
They don’t bother me. They are super sturdy and the way they are attached would destroy the wall to remove the backing.

Looks good but I’d also redo the gold hooks to silver like the rest.

The only thing I can focus on in this is how awesome and brave you are. I am very inspired to learn more about how to do things like this on my own. I have so many projects I would love to do but I don't know how to even use a power drill. LOL! My husband works very hard at his secular job and is also a Pastor of a church plant. His time is limited. I need to try to learn things like this.

I totally understand, it can be overwhelming at first, but there are so many resources out there that make it easier to learn! You can do it!

We did white true epoxy grout... it was non toxic... Laticrete brand I think. With limestone look porcelain tile... it's beautiful and does not stain at all! We have never laid tile or grouted before, but we diy'd all our bathrooms and laundry room and they look great. Highly recommend epoxy grout.

I used a sprayer in my guestroom and I thought 8 ft of protection was fine but it sprayed 12 ft and got on my computer, tv, console, desk, and floor lamp. I am too nervous to use it again. I might only use it outside. What a mess!

Oh no, that’s a bummer!

It looks amazing but 5-10 years is still a long time to live in a space I would spend a little bit more and I would paint the cabinet and either paint the counter or try to source an affordable one on Facebook or a remnant of some kind. The yellow tinge of it is clashing....or it could be the lighting🤷♀️ With that said the message of just doing minor affordable changes to get by is a great lesson. We lived in such disarray and ugliness waiting to do a remodel that took 8 years. I think if I would have done some minor affordable changes it would have helped my mental health by giving myself some visual joy

Paint sprayers are horrible! Only the true professional sprayers work.
@GraceInMySpace4 күн бұрын
I tend to agree. Though I do have a Wagner sprayer that is really nice. It was just too big and bulky for this small room.
