I just reorganized my daughters closet. One thing I did was move the original hanging rack that you have at 3:17. I moved it to the ceiling leaving just enough room for out of season stuff in cube storage. That created room to have a lower rack below (shirts on top pants on bottom and long items on the side). I then added shelves in the deep dark right side of my closet! Moving that rack to the ceiling also allowed me to mount a 4 cube storage shelf in between my hanging clothes with L brackets. This TRIPLED my storage! Now my daughter doesn’t need a ladder and I also have an organizer to get clothes ready for 9days! On school days or the weekend she can get ready without me. I put little chalk peel and stick labels on her dresser drawers so she can put away her laundry quickly. I believe in helping kids learn to be independent early plus it helps me out because I homeschool. I don’t have to fuss in the morning and she has a morning chore list and night chart. My daughter has adhd so a routine and schedule is very much needed. Now my closet is another MONSTER LOL! I’m taking my time to plan what supplies I will need for my closet. I didn’t realize how much new space I would have once I did my daughters closet. I ended up buying pink velvet hangers, extra rod, painting the closet, adding mirrors, adding lighting,and fabric to change the color of the cube bins I already had! It was actually fun LOL. My husband was shocked because he thought it was on his honey do list LOL. My daughter likes to keep her closet doors open now because it’s so pretty LOL.

This is pretty cool that your channel came up on my feed today. Because this video was posted a year ago can I ask how your bins inside the closet have held up as well as the door storage organizer? However, one thing I’d like to add, if you haven’t already done it, is add at least 2 push lights in the upper area of your closet. You know, those LED “push” lights. They are attached with 3M tape(already ON the lights). I won’t lie sometimes those 3M tapes don’t hold up well so you may have to modify the adhesive. Your closet came out beautiful!!

You did very well. That truly is a packing system. Did my own packing system with cardboard boxes cause I live with my daughter. I have my own bedroom with a similar closet. It is organized very neat. Everything is folded small same size. So don't feel bad.

I appreciate this video because it is REALISTIC! My daughter bought a 5-bedroom house and only 1 room has a closet!? She wanted a PAC system, but not only is there no Ikea anywhere near her, the system would cost more than her mortgage! She had a large space that she was able to turn into a "dressing room". I had her purchase white bookcases and wire racks, added some paintings, printed chair, rug, full-length mirror from Home Goods, and she's good! And I find those closet organization videos to be very boring. When you have a whole closet system, where is the struggle, REALLY? I think you did a great job with what you had to work with!

Laqaunda, I had a whole closet system collapse and it wasn’t even very full. It was installed very poorly and was destined to fall. Luckily I wasn’t getting anything from the closet at the time. I purchased a rolling rack and took it with me when I moved.

Just stumbled upon this vid and wanted to say how inspiring it was! So many re-org closet vids I see are a) with much bigger closets than mine or b) as you said, people with loads of money to throw at expensive systems (which I don't have). I have the same style closet you do, though, and so it was great to see your use of space in your results, especially with budget-friendly pieces. I've been curious about those shoeboxes as well, so it was nice to see someone making use of them. The problem with over the door racks is you can't close the doors unless you file away part of the top of the door. You gave me the idea of getting open boxes to store folded pants instead of hanging the pants. I can put them on the bottom of the closet and maybe hang my boots from the rod or stand them on top of the boxes. Need to figure this out!

I think you did a noble job but honestly I think you might want to think about decluttering your shoe collection. Honestly and respectfully, you need to find somewhere else to keep your shoes as they take up too much room in your closet. I also would have kept the cube storage furniture as it is more solid and would handle what you placed in the new organization bins that you bought. Sorry, I also think you have way too much stuff in the door organizers! You need an overflow basket maybe under the bed and just store the minimum items there.
