This little hobby of mine has been going on for nearly 3 years! 🥹 To celebrate that, I've compiled 10 of my favourite Ikea hacks into a video, that has been also requested by many subscribers. Links for all the materials have also been provided in the description box. I hope you'll send me pictures on IG @ccloudyhills if you recreate any of them :)

Hi! First time seeing your videos. I love home design & making inexpensive furniture look spendy! I really want to know what the computer program is that you keep using to mock up your ideas? I looked on your channel and I can't find the description of it anywhere. Would love to know. Thanks for the ideas! You are very talented :)

Hello! I use Milanote for general planning and moodboarding, which is free. For 2D mockups I use Sketch, it's an app that I already use for work in UXUI but the licence is pricey. I know there are some free 2D planners out there, you could just try doing a google search ☺️

This is by far the best IKEA hacks video I’ve EVER watched. And I watched A LOT! The printed details at the beginning of each project is brilliant and very easy to follow and/or tweak to anyone’s liking. For a month, I was searching for a good specific size IKEA kitchen island to use in a walk-in closet and voila! I think this is the best tweakable island I’ve found 😍 Thank you so much for the amazing ideas ❤

My favorite was the last project, the room divider with the tension poles. My second favorite: the way that painting ONLY the inner shelves of the dark brown bookcases made a world of difference.

That was actually useful. Practical yet aesthetic, not just putting random things together "because you can". I liked the basket under the hanging night table, and that the night table had so many drawers. In the end this is the most functional thing for next to the bed that I have seen, now I understand why my current night stand is useless!
@xchrysantha10 ай бұрын
I subscribed immediately. I LOVE how detailed this video is! You have all this new-age aesthetic music and filters and backgrounds and all the things I've been seeing on hack videos lol which is cute. But, the "hacks" you're showing are actually substantial changes that you can make in your house - and VERY well done. No shortcuts, no slapping things together that you otherwise wouldn't use if it weren't for the video. You worked so hard and put so much effort in every hack. I just loved everything about this. THIS is what "hack" videos should be. Thank you so much for sharing these ideas with us!!!!!

I love it, any new video from you makes me so excited! I have a question about painting the IKEA furniture, especially the ones that come with a „glossy” finish like Platsa. I watched tons of videos with people painting the IKEA furniture and people complained that without using the right primer, the paint can go off if scratched. In your experience, did the chalk paint + top coat combo turn out to be a solid solution to it? 😊
@cloudyhills10 ай бұрын
For chalk paint, it definitely does scratch off very easily on its own, but with the top coat (Klarlack or Möbelwachs) it's so so durable. For other projects where I did NOT add a top coat, I sanded the laminated surfaces with a power sander with 180-grit and then used only LACK (specifically, I like Alpina Feine Farben Edelmatter Lack). I still have zero scratches or chips after almost 2 years!

Neues Abo! 🙂

Beautiful creations, I admire your creativity and the amount of tools you have for these projects. One thing to note tho, take inspiration from the creator of this video and do not use BESTA frames for sitting without a proper support - as they are not made for heavy loads. Or you can opt to use the METOD range with 8cm legs instead. As an alternative to the DIY boards I can recommend the RÖDEBY armrest tray as well.
