It really is easy, Elaine. I just love making them each have personalities, but the sock gnomes (and really, any which don't have me pulling out a sewing machine) are my favorites because I can make them so quickly and get to the decoration part. ;) Thank you so much for watching.

I love all of your gnomes. I am a little obsessed as well. Two things: 1. When you do the shoe tutorials can you slow it down so we can watch it a little closer and 2. Can you do a skiing gnome? I saw one at the store but they wanted 100 dollars for it! Thanks!
@SarahNenniDaher4 жыл бұрын
I will definitely try to create a skiing gnome - I have a pretty booked calendar but will see what I can do. Thank you so much for the suggestion (and for watching). The reason I don't slow the boots and shoes tutorials too far down is because I sell the pattern. Sadly, a lot of people take screen shots and copy my patterns, so I am trying to figure out ways to share but also protect. I will say that KZbin now allows us to control the speed. Any video you watch, click on the settings (a gear), select "playback speed," and choose anything below "normal." It really helps to slow it down but keep it moving.

Hi there, Sarah. So it will depend on whether you're watching from a mobile device or a computer, but here are the details. Mobile /Small Tablet: Right next to the title of the video, you will see a small arrow head pointing down. If you click that, the description box will expand. Within that, there could be a sentence ending "...more," as well. Click that to expand the rest of the description. On desktop: Scroll down below the title and share icons. In that box, you'll see the "...more" for expansion.

Oh if I could find the socks and the right clay YAAAAA I’d make him!! As for your question if I liked sped up or real-time, I feel like the stuff we’d already know how to do i.e. hot glue, cut fabrics, fill hats etc... those I like to be sped up for obvious reasons, and like the intricate stuff like making the coffee cups, showing people how to cut the U shape out of the beard, trimming, measuring for boots, hats, arm length etc.. that’s the stuff I like to see in real-time or even slow motion 🥴🥴 your talent just leaves one with an open mouth, seriously 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

@SarahNenniDaher4 жыл бұрын
Karen, I actually stopped using rice in my gnomes because I want to keep them for decor and didn't want to keep worrying about whether a critter would get to them. A few ideas: - poly beads (what I use now) - clean, dry cat litter - sand - aquarium rocks or small pebbles

What did you use for the nose?
@SarahNenniDaher3 жыл бұрын
Theresa, for this little guy I used a polymer clay nose (just rolled a bit of clay into a ball and baked it). But you can use a button, a pom pom, or a felt or fabric nose. Anything, really.

I add an apron, skirt, or some kind of accent to the body. Sometimes, I add a little bang for them, as well. I did see where someone made a bun for the lady gnome, but mostly I stick with the braids. There are two more videos with lady gnomes coming over the next couple of weeks, but so far I have: Yarn Braids Lady Gnome: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gKiUZ6eshZKWmc0 Faux Fur Braids Lady Gnome: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nKKXpXuhpcido80
