Super clear on how to build, ingenious use of harbor freight socket holders and I love the 30 degree angle idea. And you can do this on a budget, well done and thank you! I've watched a lot of socket organization videos and this one is what I'm going to use for my own garage.

It has worked really well. Took me years to find a solution that I liked. It's real easy to see if you lost one after a project so you can find it before it get too lost. Thanks for the comment Mark!

That's better than pegboard. You gave me a lot of great ideas. I just wanted to hang my open end wrenches, but you solved my socket issue AND showed me a better way to hang my pliers, too. Thank you and thank God for you.

Great idea, I've had the Harbor Freight racks and threw them away. Now I have to buy them again. I don't know how many times I cut myself on them. I've been looking for a method and you nailed it. Thanks

Yes that was interesting. I sure do like the 30 degree design for the height consideration. The idea sure does clear up a lot of drawer space and makes the sockets more accessible at that.
@SoatMon

Thanks Glenn. It's funny how a simple thing can hold you up. I put off building it until I finally figured out that if I tilted them a little they would take up a lot less space and be much easier to access. Seems obvious now but took a few weeks before the idea occurred to me. Hope you have a good week and your project goes well.

Amazing, your ratchets and extensions look exactly like mine. I have them on my peg board using same magnetic bars. I have 3 magnetic bars one over another spaced about 8 inches each as I have some really long extensions and really long ratchets, but it s pretty much the same concept. Great minds think alike. Ive never bought any socket holders as they all are either failing junk or wont hold enough sockets. Ive been thinking of ways to make my own but I think your way is the best. Thanks for that. I'll start tomorrow!!!

You know, motivation is a tough thing. I actually had those socket strips for a few weeks before I talked myself into actually doing the project. To be honest I had been frustrated by a pile of sockets and wrenches on my bench for a couple of years before I finally took the time to figure out what would work and actually do it. I find that if I can just make myself start I will usually finish the project. Good luck with your projects Peter!

The rack is nice but I'm not a fan of snap-in socket holders. I use them now and it's too difficult to add and remove the sockets because of the tight fit. A simple peg is better, IMO.
@SoatMon
@SoatMon 3 жыл бұрын
The socket holders don't bother me but I can see where a peg would work well and be easier. They are being moved around so the tight hold is not necessary. Good suggestion. Thanks!
