My wife makes fun of be for sitting like that, good to know it's just called a "lounge position"! 😄
@DMonZ19884 жыл бұрын
i've loved lots of your designs but i don't see much point in this. usually the idea is that a sofa turns into a double bed. this is as much a bed in sofa mode as it is in bed mode, and takes up pretty much the same amount of space however you configure it.
@Pipiundkakiinpipikakaland424 жыл бұрын
I like the idea of a bed with lounging option. I’m more concerned about the use of a regular matress. It’s not recommended to sit on them. That’s why they don’t use them in sofas. After some time the matress will have holes in places you sit on and will be uncomfortable when you lay down on it.
@EricAshAdam4 жыл бұрын
i agree. makes no sense putting down the backrest cuz its not like you creating more space for bed. you can lay on it to sleep in sofa mode just as easily in bed mode

You are so creative when it comes to modern, plywood furniture! Also creative in bypassing sewing! It is modern, functional and multi-purpose! Love it!

Very cool. What if the back rest turns into a neat side ledge where you can keep stuff when in bed mode.

how many hours did you spend building this sofa? Is it possible to use MDF board for this purpose? ( or it not strong enough )
@nilssxrgerx554 жыл бұрын
Simple Life Hacks MDF in it self is pretty strong, but it wouldn’t work for this purpose.. large boards would sag over time, and screws would split the ends quite easily. Also painting MDF isn’t ideal, it absorbs a lot of paint. Birch Plywood would be better suited for this Projekt..

i wouldnt use mdf for anything that needs to take weight or last longer than 3 months.

I'd need a wedge of something in that open space for the lumbar support. It looks like you are rich with a lot of space. This doesn't look very practical for the apartment dweller to build.

I like the simple design of the sofa bed. But I have to point out, please use a workbench as your damaging you're back every time you work on the floor. A bad back is and can be both painful and disabling.

Build this but the whole construction is super weak. It bows down in the middle with my dog getting on it and he's about 50 pounds. Not sure how he got it to support his weight. So I'm trying to come up with a way to support the center a bit more if it's going to hold the weight of 2 adults .

I’m so excited to get started! Where can we find the drawings referenced from the video? Not seeing it in the description.
