the foil and pan idea is like a crude double boiler system. Most cooking sets come with one and if you don't you can make one easily so things won't burn. the best way to make a double boiler is to use a pot partially filled with water, and then take a metal bowl that will fit over that pot. the heat from the boiling water will melt the ingredients without burning. double boilers are popular in cooking when it comes to melting delicate ingredients like chocolate

Heyy , I made the lip balm and by mistake i added too much red color.. It is too dark now.. I tried re-heating it and adding light colors, but tht made no change.. Can u pls suggest me any idea's to make the balm light in color? The color at present is not looking good. Hoping to get ur reply soon. Thank you.

I did everything you said right, but I melted it all over a candle like in your lip butters diy, it separated and all the Vaseline and lipstick went to the top and the honey sunk to the bottom...

Just incase you were wondering Petrolium jelly=vaseline you dont have to put lopstick in if u dont want , it'll work the same just not stain your lips

+beautyklove I made this and it's really moisturising I needed this and it's a total lifesaver because i live in Britian and in Britian it gets cold really quickly and my lips get chapped really quickly and this is pigmented and moisturising u just earned yourself a new subbie

bees wax! I have burts bees chapstick and the bees wax soaks into your lips rather than sitting on top of your lips unlike most chapsticks. When you use it it tingles. Add peppermint for the added effect its the best!

What consistency do you get if you use the beeswax? How much of the beeswax should I use? Can I use berry juice as a colorant? My skin reacts very badly to petroleum products and anything with tree nuts or their oils.

You can also melt crayon which will harden the lip balm faster ( 10 min in fridge) and the crayon is non-toxic.. and the lipstick has lead in it, which may irritate the skin

Does it depend on the type of lipstick??? I just made two different colors but one color is not really blending real well. You can still see the honey real well. I've been mixing, blending the heck out of it but it's just not going together. The darker color turned out really well!

Honey settles down leaving the lip balm at the top they don't mix! It worked well for just few days
