I found a ghost twice. At 6:00 and at 19:36 but I'll keep looking! Those were pretty quick shots! That was so fun. It's like looking for that pesky T-Rex all over again! So fun!!! Of course there was Mr. Ghosty standing in front of the gate at the beginning. So three times in all. I thought there was ghost behind you on a pole until I figured out it was a Yucca plant. Tricky! I saw Mr. Ghosty again at 17:49 off over Jonathan's shoulder! So that is 4 times! At 19:51 I see a figure right above Ada's hand on the post with a white something on it's head but it looks like the rest of Jett standing there? I hope I saw them all? You guys are so fun!!

Harvester Ant Bait really does do a pretty fair job knocking down infestations on large plots. Keep the bait handy in sealed canisters and give the boogers a few shakes every time you find a nest(s). You will see a distinct decline in ants before season's end and you will be applying less and less bait with every passing month. By next year you will be shocked at how nice life is with almost no Harvesters.

Keep any container with ant bait CLEARLY labeled. I use empty parmesan cheese shakers for my ant bait.

Surrender makes a good ant powder. Alittle at every entrance, there are always a few, just a circle right around the hole. They track it in and it kills the queen.

I also had to go back to see the ghost at 6:00, 17:49 behind Jonathan's shoulder, and then again at 19:36 as Jonathan used the auger to make the hole for the post on the outside of the driveway, inside the gate. The ghost was low behind a bush as he pulled out the auger. I could have missed it again but I tried to look closely!

AMDRO for fire ants... it's pet safe and SO easy to use. Just sprinkle a teaspoon around their path or mound. I have the same ants here in Phoenix.

From the look of the mud under the gate creating an area where the dogs could easily get out under the gate. A new item for your bucket list would be a concrete threshold which would be about 25 feet on both sides of the gate. But for the short term a 5 foot one 2.5 feet on each side. 🤣

We had to do the ant dance when we lived in the north west of Western Australia. Hundreds of little tiny ones that crawled up your legs, everytime I hung out the washing, did gardening etc. Thankfully they didn't bite.

Do you get some kind of code or notification when the battery run down in the keypads? If not, just put an annual recurring reminder on your calendar. I do that for the batteries in my flashlights. You'll have to let us know if it works smoothly in high winds. Is there some kind of emergency disable if a car breaks down in the gateway? What a great sponsor! I love it when you get to add a little luxury to the Homestead.

The smart connection piece is something we may do later as a separate video (need wifi all the way down at the gate first which is it's own hurdle). It seems to be handling the winds just fine - they actually recommended that we could add a stopper when it's open to help if it's blowing it too much. Since we don't keep it open we're not super worried about it right now, though. Yes it's easy to pull the pins and override the system in an emergency.

Sweet - I've been researching a gate opener since we had deer fencing installed last summer. There are so many I've had a hard time figuring it all out. This is the set-up we need. Only difference is we have 2 gates at our entry point. So have to figure that part out.

Too bad the monsoons filled the dirt in under the side of the gate but I'm glad you could rehang it to fix that. I bet it's three digit temperatures too while you have to do this! At least there is a breeze but it can't be great to work in that heat. That's great that you used the spooky sound effect when Jonathan looked at the scary size of the battery box! I just so enjoy watching you guys! Nice job mounting the control box and getting the support to mount the battery box to that. Yay, it works! I love the way it works! Fantastic! That is amazing! Yay, you can tell it to close too at the time you want it to! That's wonderful! That will be great that you can charge that battery with a solar panel you can mount at the gate so it always works! Too bad you had to run to get a pipe but most things you got in the kit. So great! Nice, you got a zombie lock too. I can understand why you'd need that! Wow, that took some cutting of metal on the gate and wood on the post! Wow, you didn't even need the pipe! Keypads for friends to get in and out too! This is complicated but so handy to have! So cool! You'll be the envy of the neighborhood guys! So sad the Harvester Ants are biting you! Wow, 40 different key codes! Could come in handy! I like the way you're programming the inner keypad because hopefully anyone that has come in is welcome to leave too! You put the pig panel back on too! Yay, going to the Talking Irons Coffee Shop via the Ghost Controls Automatic Gate Opener! So exciting. I hear the Choir of Angels sing too! Love the song you played too for the trip! So wonderful to see the keypad work! That was a great ending with you all standing inside the gate and the drone going up!
