Thank you for the video, Mike. I have built several DIY wood burning gasifier stoves and I like this idea you showed, however the tip you gave about using old saw blades to scape wood shaving was the tip that I'll be using. That's for the idea.

Your stove has the upper holes inside for secondary air to burn but misses the bottom holes inside for the primary airflow. Just drill down the inner layer underneath your coffee filter insert. Good Luck!

Here's the link for what I play with. kzbin.infog_m2LNOg5zA?feature=shared I have made a few small ones that nest. I took them on holiday to Greece and the reaction of people struggling to light their charcoal bbq was priceless. I use charcoal mostly. The smaller one is just for starting the big one. I make a tiny twig fire in it and hold the big one above. Just a tiny bit of charcoal will grill 4 chops or steaks. The way to regulate the heat is to put it on 3 bricks or are stones for maximum air. Then flat on the sand for simmering. I have to get a new phone so I can make a video as I am retired and still using the old galaxy S4 and its got no memory space for a long video. But basically the picture of the tube I sent is self explanatory. Have fun

That looks so cool. I bet it was tough to keep the holes from going thru both walls

Thank you! Drilling something so thin is often tricky. The drill bit tends to grab and tear.

great concept. did you do holes in the inner layer on the bottom for air flow? and also, what brand of mug is that?
@MikeSimmons923 Жыл бұрын
Thank you! The mug is Ozark Trail from Walmart. So, I did add 5 holes. Originally I did not have holes in the inside bottom because I thought they would eventually clog. But, after my first test burn I saw that the inside holes are beneficial for airflow during startup.

Where did you find the mug? I have been wondering if this could be done with a double wall tumbler. Thank You for sharing.

Thank you for the comment. It’s a Ozark Trail mug I bought at Walmart. Works great for me, and I can hang it on the outside of my pack by the handle. Safe travels

I have the cup and sink drain. I’m going to give this a try. I think I will try to drill a few holes on the inside bottom of the cup to give it some more air flow. We will see if it works. Thank you for the inspiration.
