I just saw the video for this and am amazed at what you've come up with. I can only offer one upgrade based on crafting I have seen. If you include pipe cleaners in the brow and mouth you can change he expressions on the face. After all, he doesn't sit on the shelf thinking the same thought all the time. He might see something funny and smile, or see a child misbehave and frown at them later. Just an idea to think about. In any case, please keep up the great work and I can't wait to see what else you come up with.

I'm thinking of making a mini sorting hat that I can add the cone part to a brown baseball cap with a ponytail hole, for wearing to universal. These kinda videos really help to give me ideas to tweak for my crafts! Thank you!

since the hat itself is hollow, you could put a speaker system in it to make it talk/sing. I would probably have a microphone in te brim to allow for me to have everyone take a sorting quiz.

Hi Danny, Thank you for great videos on Harry Potter DIYs. I made Marauder's map and my son really like it. A4 option was really tedious :) I have a question about leather for Sorting hat. I followed your link to Amazon, but when fabric arrived it was clear that you've used something different. For instance, the one on Amazon page has white backside, it is thicker and does not have any texture. While yours has light brown backside, very thin (which makes it a good option for making face features and wrinkles on the hat). Could you please double check the brand of your fabric? Thank you in advance.
