liz don't use a breadboard for a project, they're not meant to be portable or durable, they're meant for testing. check if someone can solder the circuit for you.

No, the sensor works with a 5-volt power supply, but the led strip works with a 12V power supply.

While it appears to be a heartbeat, would you identify for us the sound that is being picked up by the sound sensor module? (4.) Would this work with breathing detection? (5.) (1) Thanks 😊 (2) it depends on the volume level (for me, it's about 10 inches) (3) It detects any kind of sound (4) it may work with breathing if it's too close.
