DIY space saver convertible kids bunk beds to double bed.

Non sophisticated and inexpensive, without any fancy hardware requirements. Coach bolts and eye bolts. Main frame bolted to wall studs. Space saver.

I'd like to figure out that swing mechanism you used - could be a pipe or something? Would you mind putting some links into similar hardware so I could see what you used? And how thick is your mattress - looks like a foam or memory foam, maybe 3"-4"? Do you have a reason for having spaces under the mattress rather than flat on plywood? And, looks like 2x8 side structure with possibly 2x4 arm structure?

Quick list of parts 5 x (2x10), 7 x (2x4), 2 x (2x6 for arms), 1 x 4 for mattress slats, 8 eye bolts, 3 x 6 inch rectanular fence hinges for bottom bunk. No measurements were taken as it was a build as you go project.

Brilliant. If you raised the bed by 4 inches wouldn't you eliminate the need for the addition 8 inch spacer? Maybe not. Idk I don't build things
