Another part of the code is max 6" dia opening at the bottom, between the tread and railing. Your space looks a little over that.

The railing is beautiful and the wood cap will only make it more so. But I have to tell you I really miss when you bring us along as you are doing these projects. I know you think it's boring for your viewers, but most of your viewers enjoy watching you build stuff, even if it is repetitive. Congrats on getting all the metal work done.

One thing I would also suggest you guys can use is POR-15. it's a primer for metal but also totally eliminates any oxygen and water underneath it's coating, it completely eliminates everything that would cause the metal to rust more, you wouldn't need to worry about missing tiny areas you can't see with rust because it stops the metal from ever rusting again. It's often used on the underbodies of old cars to stop them from rusting when exposed to moist environments like snow and rain.

I wanted to take a second to thank you for being so informative and educational in your videos. A lot of content creators simply video themselves doing projects for entertainment. The railings look amazing. You might want to check the local building code. Not sure solid horizontal bars are allowed because they provide a way for kids to climb over a railing.

Andrew your work is amazing as usual. Because of my taste and I know everyone's taste is different. What I would have done on the staircase is somehow blend the main support post that goes from floor to platform up the wall. So it looks like there is no support post giving it the illusion that it's floating. You are a very talented person. 👌

Andrew, I have to say, I have binged this bull playlist over the last few weeks and I have to tell you that I am more than impressed with your work! One word of advice I would suggest if you plan on doing more metal work, get a cheap auto spray gun (literally the $20 harbor freight one) and some epoxy primer and 2 part pains like automotive. it will do several things for you. 1. Save you tons of time, 2. Save you tons of money versus rattle cans, 3. Teach you how use a spray gun (which is super easy once you finally do it) 4. Get you a new toy to play with. I just see you doing future metal projects. Not only can you use it for metal, you can use it for many other things as well. You might already have one but watching you spray paint with rattle can is a very long process and you could have saved tons of time and a lot of money and used a superior product that chemically bonds to metal (epoxy primer) Just thought I would share some of my knowledge with you on that front. You don’t need expensive paint guns to get great finishes on these projects. Anyway sorry for the book here. Amazing work and I am really loving the channel! Can’t wait to see what is coming :)

I thought I'd love it but I don't like it much at all. I think it's because it is horizontal instead of vertical. That means as you walk around it on the first floor, it creates diamonds from the handrail and the rail on the edge of the loft. You don't see these diamonds as you walk up and down the stairs. Adding the wood will be a nice touch.

Looks awesome. Where are you gonna put the zip line? When you were talking about the expanding and shrinking and all that. I still have the same problem but I’m getting better. Good welders or experience welders learn how to tack it correctly so that doesn’t happen. I watched a bunch of videos and I’m getting there but it’s a lot more difficult than it seems. But your ass looks pretty straight so you got it figured out. Well companies use jigs to do it so the pieces can’t move but it’s definitely hard to get everything straight and he did a great job
