Hahaha, exactly! No problem. I just noticed the name of base plate "Wilko Blox" is the one I need to buy first! lol
@acadiestudio8 жыл бұрын
Right, I figured it's from UK! lol I found something like yours at Amazon (Lego base plate 10" x 10") which is good enough for me. Clear hinges is real cheap there too. I'm gonna to steal few blocks from my nephew while he never used/ played. Why not? lol And will get an acrylic sheet at my home area and special glue for the hinges. It will be awesome just like yours!

WOW very creative. I thought about the Lego's too, but didn't know where to get a hinge. You are very very creative!!! AND it cost no where near 100 bucks, not even 50.

This is a great idea for making a homemade stamping positioner that accomodates various size cards and envelopes! TFS! P.S. After viewing your video, I priced Legos and discovered that the price of the base mat plus Legos plus the acrylic sheet and hinges would run as much as a MISTI. Then I found the We R Memory Keepers Precision Press, which has two open sides similar to your handmade stamping tool. The price is reasonable, and there are several KZbin videos reviewing it. Your idea was spot on, and if you have children who already have the Legos, is a great workaround. Otherwise, take a look at the WRMK Precision Press, you may find it would work for you. Thanks for making your video!

This is awesome and even easier. There is a Lego shop here in Chicago at the Water Tower Place Mall. I'm just wondering if I will find all the materials you used. Except for the glue for use on plastics. 👍🏽

Why did you have to glue the hinges? Won't they stay? I know to the plastic you needed too

Fantastic idea and your finished product is a lot cheaper than all those on the market. A fun thing to try out with my grandchildren. Many thanks x One question what are the grey pads made form?

Great job! I'm surprised the maker of the MISTI didn't come after you too like she did Tonic. I may have to try this! I refuse to pay the ridiculous price for a MISTI. It's basically extortion! And I thought monopolies were illegal.

what exact website and supplier and size hinges did you get them from. I go on ebay and there are so many to choose from and I'm not sure what size to get and they all look the same to me thanks for all your help! !!!

I just googled "clear plastic hinge" and found some similar-looking ones apparently on eBay, Aliexpress, and I suppose you can find them elsewhere too.

Very clever idea, I love it! Too bad I'm seeing the video just now: I just bought the We R Memory Keepers stamping tool a few days ago :-(
@deskjockie49488 жыл бұрын
Unless you already have the Legos, base, acrylic sheet, and hinges, the price to purchase those will equal or exceed the WRMK Precision Press. After careful research and comparison, I ordered the WRMK PP and think it was a good bargain. You don't need magnets that can snap together or break, pinch fingers, or get lost, or an additional foam insert that needs to be set aside when using a different thickness of stamps. Hope this will help with that buyers' remorse, lol!
