⭐️⭐️⭐️ OH NO! Yvonne! I'm worried about the copper hinges on your white "bread box"!! If you use the Iron Patina paint on ANY metal surface. You must apply a couple of coats of Dixie Belle's Prime Start before the Patina paint. Prime Start prevents the Patina paint from rusting through the actual metal piece you painted! I hope the hinges will be OK!! You know how much I love everything you do. I just wanted to help... Thank you for sharing. ❤❤❤

I suppose it's a good thing that I live so far away from your booth, because if I didn't I would stay in the red on my bank account, as well as in the doghouse with my hubby. I love so many of your makeovers and these pieces are no different. I love them all, however that bread box/box/cubby with the copper inset, ohmygoodness!! LOVE IT!! Absolutely stunning! And the way you were able to make the door/hatch workable again is just genius. All of the other piece are lovely too and if I were walking through your booth (s) and saw them, uh, yes I could have a use for them either in my house or to give as gifts. As always Yvonne you used your creative magic and brought them back to life. Thank you sharing! xx

Yesss ! I’m here in the U.K., snuggled up in bed with my morning tea, watching you, my favourite Maker. And then a “eureka” moment. As a lifelong crafter/DIYer who LOVES learning new “hacks” I’ve realised what I need to do to make my dreams come true. It was when you were positioning those library hooky things on the little green cabinet. I need to marry your husband ! He has such a lot to teach me ! PS. Love everything you did. You always do a fantastic job. The bread box was confusing, wasn't it. The groove in there was for the pegs on the door to fit in to lift up and push into the box. Those little holes would've held a dowel that would've stabilized the door once opened so it wouldn't fall down. But you sure came up with a clever solution and it looks great! Sure enjoy watching what you do.

These pieces look amazing after your flip. I love that green and the effect you get with chipping and wax. I’ve not tried milk paint yet. I just bought some Dixie belle silk paint in Hampton olive and refinished a few dated wood furniture pieces in my home. That color is almost the same as your mixture. Very trending color right now.

The little green piece looks like a salesman sample, minus the mirror. It turned out very cute! Years ago I had a breadbox with the same style of punched insert. I took that out and the insert may have just got tossed out not long ago or it’s in my stash somewhere. It definitely looks much better made over! I found a really tall handmade breadbox that we use to store our chips in, and I promote ones I sell as being snack storage. Another one I painted holds our coffee bar supplies. Gosh, I have several breadboxes I need to get done.
@karenmitchell8910 ай бұрын
Hi , I had a bread box like #3,back in the early 1980’s. That lid did come with it! The way it worked was there were the small dowels on the side of the door, they fit into the grooves that you see inside. There were two other small dowel in the holes on the inside. To open the door, you lift it straight up and slide back in to the box and it would stay open. Hope that solves the mystery!
