This series is incredibly useful. Not many guys give the 2.5 a lot of thought yet I have two. I'm anxious to see what the end result is... these motors are bullet proof and tourquey on their own so adding that boost will be otherworldly. Even better your doing it like the everyman backyard mechanic normally would and sharing how. Thanks so much! Would love to wheel if your ever in Ky!

I’m going to do this on my 88 YJ, once you’re done with the series I’m going to start planning it out. Already looking for the right charger.

I don't know how you got into my recommended videos list, but I'm loving it! The core concepts you're teaching are a great foundation to ANY forced-induction setup. One little nit to pick, though... Diesel engines are built as tough as they are not because they need to handle "detonation" or "pre-detonation" but because they are compression-ignition engines that generate significantly higher cylinder pressures both immediately before and after ignition.

Honestly this is the coolest thing I've ever seen for the 2.5l. being a poor college student I don't have buckets of cash for a V8 swap. Definitely planning on this 👌

To supercharge my 95 YJ seems the best way. I've looked at that ridiculously priced kit, I've looked at strokers (still liking that) but this may be the way I go. Have access to a machine shop. Watching this series now. Will dive into the actual project after depending on your results. Plenty of torque for offroad but 35s pushed by a 2.5 is a little slow on the highway. I have a winch sitting right in front of where you mounted your intercooler. Think that'll block too much air?

Remember, whenever using more than one kind of metal in contact you need to be using some kind of anti-corrosion compound. Different metals will naturally cause corrosion between those metals to occur (and many states use slat and sand in the winter months). Just a heads up. Enjoy your Jeeps guys.

Very nice detailed explanation on the intercooler. Liam. Now that you have a welder are you going to finish the Jeep tub project? You made lots of small modifications to your 1994 YJ now so you may just want to finish up the tub work and sell the tub. There’s likely numerous YJ owners who have rust buckets that could use the restored tub.

@@JeepSheepTV Yes! However, I’m disappointed immensely on the delays. So far, over a year and $100 for the reserve, $1,000 for the order. Here is what I got so far. Three (3) I’m sorry/excuse letters from Ford. Last week, I received a giant envelope with a poster of the design. Big deal. Don’t need a poster or more excuse letters, I need the vehicle! And to boot, I have stock in Ford, no more dividend and no X-plan discount on the Bronco for stockholders. Great job Ford🤬

You shouldn’t need an intercooler at 3-5 lbs of boost. There would be little to no intake air temp increase at those pressures. 93 octane and done. Probably lost most of the boost pressure with that massive intercooler also.
@JeepSheepTV
@JeepSheepTV 7 ай бұрын
The intercooler is there for 2 reasons. One is to prove that you can have an intercooler and still stay under the $1k price point. Two, if for if I decide to go crazy and increase the boost, the intercooler is already in place. At these pressures, yes I don't really need it. In fact, there are a lot of ways that I could simplify this build, but I wanted to challenge myself to put together a supercharger with all the bells and whistles for under $1k.

I am still working on completing a full components list, I have been busy with the filming and editing of the series. Also, as I said in the previous video when I created the bracket I didn't do a very good job but when I recreate it I will release a flat pattern.
