I love the instructional video. I watched it in full and plan on it for the other parts. I’ve always enjoyed your company and value the knowledge. Accuracy is what I want and realize time is what I need and not precision. Thanks! 👍👍😁🇺🇸

I’ve got a ghillie blind I made like you have I us for hunting on the ground. I just place it around my tripod and brush next to me like a veg wall. Great video

Thanks Lucas that was really informative! I just started building ghillies and as you say it's very tedious and time consuming, a little like knitting. I've been using synthetic jute from Arcturus, it makes life a lot easier.

Jute twine comes in balls of about 100'. Garden supply's are s good source. And solid mesh is easy. Just get sheer curtains and ho to cutting.

Killer! Great info.... Looking forward to the next evolution! BTW.... Huge thanks for giving me the "go ahead" on trying to source a George Rogers Clark Flag! Clark's Virginia Regiment of the Illinois has huge significance for me, growing up in the STL!

Were you a Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow? I just noticed the tattoo on your right arm. If so, congratulations from an old Brotherhood member.

Sure am, haven't had time over the years to remain apart of it all though unfortunately. Nice to see a fellow OA member though!

I made mine and opened a ton of closet space by cannibalizing old uniforms for fabric. I shredded them with some trauma shears to make my own loose-ends and wove in jute, some paracord and other netting. The best part is that being from old uniforms, the masking material was already NIR.

Thats such a good idea. What a great use for old uniforms!

Awesome video - thanks Lucas. A question a little 'off topic'. I heard you were a 'forward controller' in the Army? Ghillies are great for day time and night vision tech concealment but during night ops or when you had to stay overnight was there anything you guys did do help defeat detection by drones or thermal devices? I'm kind of looking forward here.
@VentureSurplus Жыл бұрын
Forward Observer. Not particularly outside of during night time just plain limiting your overall footprint/signature by just plain holing down. IR/Thermal countermeasures are pretty niche and wearable defeating gear, on an individual level, haven't become huge till recently. A lot of it just comes down to limiting your overall footprint/signature and such though.

What is the bugle call you guys use at the end of your videos?
@VentureSurplus Жыл бұрын
Just something one of us made. It's a mix of some standard military bugle calls and such.
