This week, I wanted to test out some different spray paints and transform some common home decor items you can almost always find at your local thrift store. Thrift flips and thrift transformations do not always have to be so involved but sometimes, just a simple coat of spray paint can take that item from drab to fab! Rust oleum has a comfort grip spray gun that you can use with any spray paint can. They work great. Love your ideas! 🥰

Rustoleum makes a spray paint can attachment that’s more like a gun & it makes spray painting super easy & less crampy. The attachment is like $3 or less. If you do a lot of spray painting, you should look into it. Walmart carries it in their spray paint department & I believe Home Depot carries them as well.

I've had that same experience with the hammered bronze paint too. Some surfaces it would give the hammered effect, other surfaces it wouldn't as much. Also, wanted to add I love how all the DIYs turned out! The aesthetic is perfect 😍

When I spray paint I use rust oleum hand held spay nozzle u put it over your can of paint and it pushes down on the nozzle for you and it works great you get the coverage you want without hurting your hand or getting paint on yourself

It isn't silly that you like the spray paint nozzle! Anyone who's ever had a dud can or crummy nozzle can appreciate a good spray can. Smooth application is why we choose spray paint after all 😉. Your ideas are always so fresh and inspiring. The hammered spray paint needs heavier coats. Your too light on each coat. It works best if you lay your surface flat and give it a thorough coating.

Hi, Fia - I noticed you mentioned the ease of the spray paint can. I found this product to be extremely helpful when spray painting. Krylon K07091000 Snap and Spray Can Handle. It should help your fingers when spray painting.

That high heat will be just fine. I have used it on my grill as well as the metal surround on my fireplace. Both get really HOT. The paint is in great shape.

For the hammered look, shake the can vigorously for 3 min. and shake in between spray applications to keep the hammered chunks floating (?😂) I love how your boxes came out!

I have used Rustoleum’s hammered bronze spray paint many times and have been very pleased with the texture and coverage. Maybe you didn’t shake it well or maybe it was just a bad can…🤷🏻‍♀️ I would say don’t write it off. Give it another chance. 😁

Hi Lisa! I always love a vessel with some simple florals or a neutral wooden bowl! I also tend to use candlestick holders I find at the thrift store! Hope that helps! 🥰

@@FiaGarciaDIY i think that can help...one can say i can put you on mute but then what is the fun on that when i can not hear all the instructions and tips you are sharing. Believe me there are some utubers that do not use music on their videos (mostly diyers like you) and it is perfectly ok Remember that content is what makes a video great or a naaaaa...the music is just noise. In my opinion...personal opinion...u have a message to give and share so why to hide behind noise? Own the channel, own the content...u are a star that shines without any fake gold paint....
