Always have a good time with your mother I didn’t have one she died 28 days after I was born. I had lovely grandparents to raise me. They were the best. I love the Windsor Chairs. I have some beautiful crocheted table cloths that I've found. One covers the back of my couch, the other hangs in the center of my dining room curtains. They are beautiful, so much work went in to them. I love them. I pais $2 each for them, and got them a couple months apart. Really enjoyed the video. Love the Bible Verse.

I loved so many of your favorite finds, but these are my favorites, in order of presentation. 1. Folding chairs (though I *really* loved the original finish) 2. Mirror (nice transformation - pretty before, but you took it to gorgeous) 3. Shelf (loved it a creamy color with the amber/brown bottle collection) 4. Harvest still life with lovely gilt frame (a fantastic find! And looks just perfect there!) 5. Windsor chairs!!! (just beautiful! Please, never hit them with that white paint, I beg of you!) 6. Couch cover (pretty as it is, or you could separate into two separate large pieces of fabric for making pillows, etc. So versatile) Honorable mention to: 1. Giant cloche (no idea where I'd put it, but so unusual to run across and just gorgeous - I'm rethinking my honorable mention status here...) 2. Lamp in your kitchen (very cute, but don't think it's actually vintage so perfect for kitchen use!). Thanks for posting. So many pretty things.

I would of loved to see your dinning room lamp, to me it looked like a huge oil lamp. At home I have a vintage crystal lamp, a nightlight lamp that has the lampshade in glass. Also those vintage mirror trays where women put their perfume bottles and a 3d picture that has a colorful city with tables and umbrellas near the ocean. These I got from a flea market, goodwill and the vintage tray from my aunt. I just love your home especially those beams on the ceiling. Say a hello to your mom and is so wonderful having a mom around, I don't have my parents any longer but miss them dearly.

My favorite of YOUR favorites is the gold framed pheasant hunting scene. My favorite thrifting find of 2022 is an extremely heavy black wrought iron candelabra for our dining room table. It holds 5 pillar candles. I’ve enjoyed swapping out the colored candles and greenery for the seasons.

You have great taste. I love the vibe in your home. I often find great things at thrift shops. Recently, I picked up 3 Horchow Italian made mahogany trays in perfect condition for $5.99 for the set. They originally retailed for around $120 each. This week I scored a square West Elm lamp for $6.50. It was a gamble. The shade was stained and if I couldn't revive it, it wouldn't be worthwhile trying to find a replacement shade. I scrubbed it with a brush and some dish soap and it turned out perfect. This lamp originally sold for over $300. I also picked up a hand painted Chinese ginger jar from the 1920s for $7.99. I guessed it was probably worth around $40, but when I researched, comparable pieces were going for $250-$400! Another find was an original oil painting for $8.99 which was valued at around $300. I also got 2 matching wrought iron chandeliers for $6 each. They're hanging in my bathroom and look fabulous! All of these items were found in the past 6 months. It does take patience and a good eye. I frequently leave shops empty handed., but when I score, it's great!

I collect and love ironstone so my fave is your scalloped ironstone bowl. I have two. Loved this video! I lump garage sales/estate sales in my thrifting. My best find was two pair of new Birkenstock sandals, in my size, sitting at a garage sale with no price. I asked the guy running it how much. He shrugged his shoulders and said $1 per pair! Birks can run $100/pair. This guy/dad/husband had no clue. I handed over my $2 and grabbed those two pairs of sandals and ran to my car before a daughter/wife came running out of the house! 😅

I must have been born thrifty. I"m in my 70th year and have always cooked from scratch, made all my own soft furnishings, refinished furniture and grown my own produce. It's my absolute norm. I love creating and redesigning. I'd never dream of filling my home with new stuff. I adore vintage, beautiful textiles, plants and oodles of artwork. I don't want to be "fashionable", I want to be surrounded with creativity and individualism, comfort, real wood, craftsmanship and colour. Being sustainable and saving "stuff" from landfill is priceless. When I've finished with my thrifted pieces, I donate them. I love the idea of a circular economy. My (working) Jones sewing machine dates back to 1890 and, to me, it's a work of art and one of the loveliest gifts I've ever received. My most humble vintage piece is a small 1930s china planter currently filled with Spring blooms. It brings so much pleasure. Embrace "thrifting". Make it a life skill. Take pleasure in it and enjoy every single precious find.

LOVE the little lamp you bought for your kitchen counter! I’ve been looking for one, to no avail. I ended up ordering one on Amazon (unfortunately), but it has yet to arrive. We’ll see if I keep it. The reason I purchased it is because I thrifted the most gorgeous cut glass shade for $3! They originally had 6 of them and I just fell in love with them, but couldn’t think of where I’d use them, so didn’t purchase. Naturally, when I got home, I found a use. So, I went back and all but one were gone 😢 I searched online for more and discovered they were from the 1920’s selling at up to $30 each!! Just gorgeous and very Ralph Lauren looking with the cut plaid style in the glass. Sigh, lesson learned. Buy and figure out later. If not, give back to thrift store. But, I’m still keeping my eyes open 😊

Of all people, my Dad was the one who told me that when I was first married in the mid 80s! I had found a gorgeous secretary desk and the older lady (haha - probably same age I am now!) selling it loved my then 2 year old daughter and wanted me to have it so badly that she offered me a great price. She'd had someone else already look at it, but she knew I'd care for it as she had and wanted it to go to a family. I hesitated because I didn't know how I would get it home. I called my parents when I got home and my Dad told me when I came across something like that to NEVER worry about where it would fit or how I'd get it home - just buy it and THEN figure it out! I hung up immediately and called the woman, but of course the other party had bought it in that 2 hours, so I missed out on something I ended up paying a couple of thousand for later instead of the couple of hundred she was literally giving it to me for. My dad was right and I followed his advice every time after that! No more regrets like those I've carried for 35 years for that desk.💕
