I think the only difference I would’ve made because this project is really nice. Instead of leaving a gaping square opening on the back, I would’ve either added decorative metal or covered the entire back (without glue Incase it needed replacing) with wood backing and cutout spots for some lightweight vents or again using decorative metal cut out shapes that looked nice but added the benefit of airflow and trim out the shapes with thin trim out of the same backing material to keep it in place. Mainly because having a back to your cabinet will hold everything square and prevent leaning or wood movement

On the other hand, leaving it open will make it much easier to fish clothes that fall out of the bins, to the bottom of the cabinet. Personal preference I suppose.

Nice work! I noticed you mentioned removing "bags" at the end of the video. What type of bags are you using? Getting ready to build something similar but was planning on using plastic laundry hampers. Thanks

Hi. Thanks for watching and the comments! I used plain laundry bags from Target. I don't have the p/n, but I'll update the comments if I come across it. I originally planned to use plastic laundry hampers too, but my wife prefers bags, so that's what I did. :)

What are the dimensions you used? This video was perfect to figure out the basic frame I wanted to make as well myself..I also have juggled with both ideas for using the cloth bags or plastic hampers.. thank you for making this video also..

Do you have some type of stop or something that only allows the bins to tip out partially so the doors dont fall to the floor?

Yes there are stop blocks on the back of the bag frame. It's at about the 3:40 point in the video. You can flex the frame to bring it all the way forward if needed. Thanks for watching!

Did you rout the edge of the plywood or did you attach 3/4" molding ?

Hi, I routed the edge of the plywood. It took a bit more time to finish but worked out ok.

i didn't know you could rout a smooth edge in plywood. Did you have to fill in many gaps prior to painting?

Some areas were very smooth, but other areas had voids. It actually came out better than I expected and didn't do much filling. I think solid wood or molding would also be a good option.

I'm just wondering, why did you use the pocket holes for the outside of the frames?

Hi, I went with pocket holes because the frame is covered by the bag. Also it is a fast and relatively strong, plus I wanted to try out a new Kreg jig. 😉

I don't have an estimate at this time, but was relatively low cost using home store plywood and dimensional lumber. Hope to have plans up within 3-6 months and will have an estimate then....Thx!
