I want to do something similar for my 5' x 10' cargo trailer where I haul band sound and lighting equipment. Thanks for the video. This will be really helpful.

So with this you don’t have to worry about hitting a stud ?
@Blood_Boltz8 ай бұрын
Yes. You do. I can't believe he didn't. It will not last just being screwed to plywood.
@artest72 ай бұрын
Great! But did u consider all that extra weight? Especially with full totes?
@diydozier32052 ай бұрын
Yes I did. No problems at all with what I was carrying.

Great video ! Since the walls are 3/8” thick how sturdy are the brackets holding? Any issues with weight once the shelves are completed?
@diydozier32053 жыл бұрын
I have about 100 pounds on each shelf and have put about 500 miles on the trailer with no issues. Im pretty happy with it.
@paulliquori48242 жыл бұрын
Do not put them just in the plywood. Not going to last. Get them in the metal supports with self tappers
@S1LV3RF0X782 жыл бұрын
Great use of space and much less expensive than commercial shelving. Would also imagine that with the additional bracing you installed it will also help with the structural integrity of the nose of your trailer. Thanks for posting - now come on by and help me get mine in 🤣

Absolutely I can do that 👍👍

Thank you! Could you put the wall brackets under the 2x4’s also, instead of on the side?
@diydozier32052 жыл бұрын
Yes. Just preference really.
@1EVILZ062 жыл бұрын
Wouldn’t using 2x2’s be a bit cheaper than using 2x4’s? Also a bit lighter? Meanwhile keeping the same rigidity?
@georgelehman49709 ай бұрын
Why didn't use 2x4 joist hangers would be a lot stronger ?

What if the ceiling brackets your measuring down from arent level? 😳
@MichaelHenryMusic6 ай бұрын
Nothing in these trailers are level, or square. You have to choose to come from the floor up (what do) or the ceiling down. Since they are made for cargo and not camping (again, what I do), you have to make the best of it.

What kind of screws did you use to fasten

To the aluminum

It’s wood. You should not be going into aluminum.

Theres no problem with how these shelves are mounted. I’ve got over 200 pounds sitting on these currently with zero issue. Thanks for commenting!

Why can't you just measure from the floor which should be level?
@chriscreek25502 жыл бұрын
You can. Floor or ceiling
@diydozier32052 жыл бұрын
Ceiling and floors were not level in the trailer.
@AKZboy29 ай бұрын
Sheesh dude would be about 10x stronger if you fastened to the metal studs. I’d be surprised if that’s holding up under any amount of weight. Good for you if it is.
@rayray977710 ай бұрын
Why didn’t you just take a 2 x 4 and lay it sideways and screw it to the wall instead of using those brackets and stuff seems like a lot of extra work

bad choice of hardware ... it's very weak structure wise ... E-trak brakets would have been a solid build ! much better choice

Your using the wrong brackets. Should have used hanger brackets. It won’t hold any weight. Hopefully your loading paper towels on that pos.
