Fantastic job, and all on your own. I loved the crazy paving on the patio.

Good to see someone doing things the right way even down to using water while you're drilling the stone. This looks fantastic, keep up the great work sir. Ironing the wood the get the moisture down was as hilarious as it was effective. Subscribed.

Very impressive, I sat and watched all of it and quite enjoyed it and you showed a lot of the detail in the construction which I always enjoy. Even if some things weren't done 'perfectly' it doesn't matter, the money you saved by doing it yourself means you can afford to go back and do some things again if you ever have to so you still win in the end. You did great it looks fantastic, well done 👍

That's exactly it. If somebody else made a mistake building it for me, I'd have to chase them to fix it. This way, I know exactly what went wrong and why, and all I need to do is fix it. Glad you liked the video and thanks for the comment!

Nice work. I doubt for long lasting the slab. You simply cannot pour concrete on top soil and so thin. Organic matter will degradate over time and there will be hollow space under, it is only matter of time when it crack. You should dig 1foot take all soil from the hole, add gravel, compact with wacker, add more gravel, compact and then add rebar and then pour. There are no shortcuts in this busineas....

Yes, this may come back to bite me in the butt in future and I am looking forward to learn from my mistakes. Thanks a lot for the guidance! I did the same with the shed at the back, so it's a double test! kzbin.info/aero/PL1DzPbBUaF_U19k2jH_zcK0Wt_5PgQBeN&si=A9v_mv8Zq4J5liej

He's right about your slab it should have been thicker and some rebar/mesh in it too ( will limit the cracking) I would think your slab will be suspect to frost heave too. Your beams supporting the rafters would be much stronger with the large depth vertical, it will sag after time the way you did it.

Thankfully, there is no frost in Ireland, but yes, I agree with all of that.
