Here's how to install a transmission fluid cooler on a honda odyssey, this can be applied to any car, same process more or less.
Coolers come with mounting hardware & hose
BEST cooler I recommend: amzn.to/3vDhPHY
Cooler used in video: amzn.to/35d8V9s
Transmission cooler hose: amzn.to/3vjMoCt
Cooler mounting hardware: amzn.to/35eFbsP
OEM hose clamps: amzn.to/3xupIkg (highly recommend using these on the hoses)
Transmission fluid for Honda Automatic Transmissions: amzn.to/3vkkhTM
Pliers: amzn.to/3zhjOom
Oiler: amzn.to/2U9Cpm9

Question: the cooler recommended Hayden 699, on the official website Hayden and on Amazon says it doesn't fit 2017 model. I have a 2017 and I bought the model 699. Can I plan to install it or it will not fit?

I have this exact cooler on my 2004 Volvo XC70, and this video helped me determine how to mount this to the AC condenser on mine. Did a full 16-quart Amsoil Synthetic ATF flush, bypassed the main radiator, and she's shifting very happily, now. Thanks a bunch!

Wish I had thought of loosening the condenser brackets, I just put the plastic rods through both the radiator and condenser and reached through the fans to trim them/lock them into place. Was a pain but it worked out.

Thanks for the tutorial! I have an 04 pilot and I’m trying to delete the stock cooler (so it can’t fail and put coolant in my transmission), do you think the Hayden 699 in the description would be good enough for that? Would it be too overpowered and result in a transmission that doesn’t warm up properly?

That's the best one to get! It has a thermal bypass so the ATF will get to operating temp just fine.

Hi Mr Ranzer you are the boss of the Hondas. I learn a lot from yuor videos which saves me money. I have a 2008 odyssey exl and recently my transmission slips only in second gear. My buddy already changed 2 shift solenoid B AND C but still it didnt fix the problem. Fluid has been changed recently like 15k miles ago. what do you think it could be? please suggest as i cant afford new car right now.TIA

These 5-speed transmission never gave me issues. As a last try, change the ATF again. This time in place of a quart of ATF, use lucas transmission additive. It's a thick red fluid. If that doesn't work, replace the transmission with a used low mileage transmission. Don't bother with rebuilding.

I have code P0751 on my Honda Odyssey only during the transmission problem otherwise it will not show up when scanned. First it happened in the highway, it was a terrible jerking. Second time wasn’t that bad, car will not move forward or backwards. Third time kicking and moved very slowly. I install a transmission cooler system, because it just happens when hot. After 2 weeks it did it again after stoping it would not move. I noticed it’s doing it when driving like a madman and when hot otherwise it will not act like that but likely jerk from 1 to 2. The P0751 code is the shift solenoid valve A, I am not sure if replacing it will fix the problem because everything is fine until It gets hot. All the mechanics Recomend to put a rebuild transmission. My transmisión was rebuild at 121000 and now is 153000. Any suggestions?

Great video. To the point, no fluff or annoying music!!!! My 2010 Odyssey's lines to stock cooler are leaking badly, so time to do the cooler upgrade. Looks as though you leave the stock cooler in the loop. Is this before or after the external cooler? I would guess that having it after might be best as it would act as a coolant heater in conditions where the external cooler is doing too good a job. Since I am replacing all hoses, how much will I need? Is it the same hose (3/8) all around? Do you recommend the combo package on amazon that includes hayden cooler, hose and thermostat bypass?

And as the car is moving the air flowing through both condenser and the cooler is so intense, heat will be dispersed in the air as usual. have you noted the way winds flow to you when riding a motorcycle at high speed.
