Good thing you had a helper!! She supervised well, haha. Great prop! I love the LED idea, so obvious but so 'I never thought of that'. I've been thinking pirates for a few years, but it would mean a lot of rebuilding. And sand.

I used cheap second hand dresses of satin and velvet to help fill my chest. My gold coins did slide around during transport, but the look was really authentic in place since pirates collected clothing as well.

I would've cut off a u-bolt from a cheap padlock or a big link from a chain. Then drill a couple holes in the top of the wooden lock and glue the metal u-bolt in place. The reflection off the metal would really help to sell that it is a real lock.

This is really great Scott! Are you able to share simple details about the parrot? Where did you find it and how you mounted it? Thanks in advance!

Great idea, but some basic measurements would have helped.
