A DIY video on how to improve the trigger on your Arex Delta.
The trigger job is relatively simple to do for people that are comfortable with taking the gun apart. Essentially you just polish all the trigger surfaces that touch or rub together.
This DIY trigger job can work for both Delta gen 1 and Delta gen 2 handguns.

I followed your advice. I had a qualified, competent gunsmith to polish the trigger action group. The result was just like you said: it improved the smoothness of the trigger pull weight. I am very happy now. My Arex Delta Gen 2 L is very accurate. Thank YOU!

Your first method is how I smooth every trigger I have. Some days I run three to four times that many for dry fire practice anyway, so they don't stay gritty for long. That Arex is the next one that I want.

I've meant to do this to my CZ P-10S, the trigger was initially pretty heavy and gritty. Decided to dry fire it a few thousand times, helped a small amount. However, after only firing a few hundred live rounds, the trigger got noticeably smoother and actually over a pound lighter according to my Wheeler gauge.

I did this on my Delta. Before this video came out. I went a little more aggressive on it. Dropped the trigger weight from 6 down to a 4. However note that on this gun dropping the pull weight this much it becomes very touchy. A 4lbs pull weight on this gun feels closer to a 3 just note

To unleash the real potential of this great pistol, you need a lighter striker spring (Glock), lighter striker safety plunger spring (XD/XDM), and lighter sear spring (modified XD/XDM). On the optics-ready model, removing the plate allows easy access to the top of the extractor. Removing the extractor will free the striker's safety plunger. Polish the sides of the plunger as well. The sides of the striker channel that are cut in the slide, which rubs the striker, and the corresponding parts on the striker, should be polished too. I have not figured out where to get lighter dingus and trigger return springs.

How would I order a different color frame and how much does it cost? I just recently bought the Delta X Gen 2. I put the first 100 rounds through it yesterday and was very pleased. The only down side I can see (and you have addressed this) is that it is very difficult to rack with a full magazine inserted. You had not experience this problem, but I assure you, it does exist. Is there a serious problem with the gun, or will break-in fix the issue? Love your videos. Educational, informative and yet entertaining.

@PolenarTactical
@PolenarTactical 3 жыл бұрын
Gen 5 out of the box has a softer trigger press. With Glock when you come to the wall you have some creep before the trigger breaks. With Delta you have a distinct hard wall and then a crisp break. But the Delta trigger is a bit heavier out of the box. Also on some Deltas the pretravel can feel a bit gritty on a new gun but goes away after normal use

Before I bought my first gun I checked this one. To be honest it's trigger was awful. Like a service AR-15's trigger. It's about 6-6.5lbs. For comparison the HK SFP9 has 5-5.5lbs what is a true service pistol. After I checked the Canik SFT Mete, and bro... That trigger is heaven. You don't need to do any DIY moves, it's 4,5lbs out of the box and crisp like hell... And that is in this price range with a better package.

Does it hurt to dry fire an Arex Delta, or should one use snap caps?
@princevalencia8816
@princevalencia8816 2 жыл бұрын
No it does not. You’re encouraged to dry fire the Delta, not just to break it in but also for practice purposes. You’d have to dry fire a modern handgun at least 100,000 times before you have to worry about damaging a properly manufactured firing pin. And even then, it’s mainly just the firing pin, it’s not like you’re going to break the whole pistol dry firing. Having said that, I still use snap caps when I dry fire. Loading a magazine, inserting it into the mag well, racking the slide, having a snap cap eject every rack, and the slide locking back is just a better experience than dry firing without snap caps. It’s more tedious, but also more realistic than the easy rack and pull.
