I sooooo relate to Bruce and his “detail mission.” Having been retired for several years, I became a detail enthusiast this past year at the age of 70. I now detail cars and donate 100% of proceeds to a local animal rescue that my wife and I support. During the past 8 months, I’ve completed a total of 33 cars, all of which have received a paint enhancement/ceramic spray or coat. I’m sure the supplier “Detail Image” wonders just how large of a business I am running with all the orders I’ve placed. (DIY, CarPro, Gyeon, 3D, P&S, Lake County, Auto Fiber and Rag Company) And just like Bruce, our 3-car garage is where I do my charity detailing.

@@Bruces-Garage don’t have pressure washer, just a hose, trying to figure out best way to rinseless wash with only hose.

I started detailing in '06 for one simple reason; in our little automotive world, there was no one who we'd trust with our cars. Very long story short, got pretty good at it after a number of years. These days, I rarely do someone else's car. If it's truly special. I've aged, my company needs my time. and detailing is now more of a hobby. It was never the primary source of income, anyway. Enjoyed the video.

Bruce, you have a beautiful home and a fantastic garage. Really enjoyed this video and am looking forward to see what else you come up with. I understand completely about learning something new and diving off the deep end- that's what got me into detailing as well. I was always fanatical about keeping a vehicle clean and nice, and then I started researching paint correction and coatings and my interest is nearly an obsession now (just a hobby, I still have a day job).

Always striving to the best you can be is generally a good trait, but there have been times where it becomes destructive - perfection or fail mentality, or not starting something because I won’t be able to produce the results I desire at first. Fortunately, I’ve become more self-aware and am able to manage myself before it becomes destructive. But that has taken me a while and a lot of growth to get there.
