The way you sewed the zipper is just brilliant ! I'll start sewing my own in a few weeks time and I'll definitely do the same.I have no experience in tents of any sort, but I really didn't want that door on the floor and couldn't figure how to avoid it. So, thanks a lot ! I might also do the same roof tie outs...

Definitely recommend the zipper and roof tie outs. With the zipper just make sure the zipper is sewn into the trekking pole pocket at the top there if that makes sense. You don’t want noseeum holding on your tent door

Perhaps the through flow of air could be improved by having a second roof vent one on the opposite side?

Can you explain how you made the roof tie-outs, please? How did you reinforce the tie-outs to the roof? What material did you use? Going to start mine soon! Thanks.

Do you mean the loops on the inside or my supports that allow me to close the doors? For the support things I just used some nylon webbing with linelocs on the end sewn to the area that is reinforced for the trekking pole. For the loops inside I just sewed those in when I joined the two roof panels. Hope this helps!

@@robhoffimagerySorry, the round "patches" you used to make the extra head room. How did you do those? Thanks!

The zipper design is awesome! It's a little hard to tell in the video but do the two ends of the zipper end at the top pocket and then there's a few inches of mesh in-between them, or do the ends of the zipper continue underneath the top pocket and meet together in the middle?
@robhoffimagery3 жыл бұрын
There’s a few inches of mesh there but it is reinforced by the zipper which goes all the way up to the trekking pole pocket support. I didn’t want to have the mesh just dangling by itself. Hopefully that makes sense.

Is this better as a solo tent? Or can you fit two people?
@robhoffimagery3 жыл бұрын
Comfortably fits two people and a good boy/girl :)

Thank you for your video! How do you find your mesh so far? I also bought 0.5 mesh and it's sooo thin I am afraid it might rip apart..
@robhoffimagery3 жыл бұрын
It definitely has some marks from sticks and such pulling it but so far no rips. I wouldn’t say I baby it either. Sometimes I’ll pitch with sticks instead of trekking poles and accidentally poke the mesh and it holds up

Thank you for the great review. My wife and I are starting our tent tomorrow. I wanted to expand the width by a couple inches to accomodate my floor pads (for two) but with the width of the fabric only 58" it isn't going to be that easy. I was thinking to make the bathtub walls 6" instead of 8" recommended in the Dubber plan. Any thoughts?
@robhoffimagery3 жыл бұрын
That would probably work fine, just make sure the short ends of mesh are sized correctly so things line up there. Mesh is pretty forgiving though so it’ll probably be fine. 8 inches is pretty generous for bathtub walls so I’d think 6 is plenty deep. Good luck!
