This is brilliant. Only half way through but I usually make a basic three sided tarp tent tepe with my 3*3 tarp. It is 1000% more usable by using two poles to make an A frame. I have carbon poles with 3d printed ends with holes that I tie together at the top of the A. Works extremely well.

Thank you for all the thought and details that go into your tents. I'm on my second Notch (the first one lasted about 11 years, even with 3000 miles of use) and it's just the best. Super easy setup, the pole height is the same that I use to hike with so no fidgeting with it every night and morning, bomb-proof in high winds and rain, and just enough room for me and all my loose gear with the pack in a vestibule. Thank you for taking the time to explain your process, and keep up the great work! ❤, Piñata 🪅

I have other shelters but I always go back to my Protrail. I've even swapped it back on the eve of a trip after packing a different one😮

Do you know some resources for lessons on tent design and pole structure? On KZbin or maybe even a book? Would love to learn about different designs and how they react to the environment.
