I've never seen someone use a soldering gun the way you do, and make it look so simple. I remember having and using a soldering gun some 40 yrs ago, and burning insulation as i would try to solder/splice wires. And yet you solder @5:36 with ease and skill. Outstanding job for doing this with what you have. Someone once asked me "What's the best knife to carry and use", and I would answer..."The one you have with you, is the best one to use". :) Nice job on the DIY, and editing of these videos that you make, and your sense of humor works perfect! Thanks, JimmyG

great video. For easier work you need a more precise soldering device. Try a mini TS100 and a Daniu PX988.

Hello, amazing video as always!! So well explained and there are always stuffs to learn as in all of your vids ;) I will realise this tester, but not sure when, lol Btw, I learned a great info, always use thick cables, for phone charging and other stuffs, now I get why fast charging of my phone is not working as supposed! I did like you, throw away cheap testing cables, and created my own cables with thick wires :) only minus is, there are less flexible, but who cares, they gives good measurements!! Keep the great work ;)

Sorine, salutare. Sper că ești bine și sănătos. Mulțumesc pentru postările tale foarte utile și instructive. Ași vrea să te întreb, dacă am doar un voltmetru de cel cu două fire groase, cum să unesc cablul cel galben din schema ta?
@Sorin_DIY Жыл бұрын
Salut. Daca ai voltmetru cu 2 fire groase, se conecteaza altfel. firul galben al voltmetrului (sense wire) se conecteaza in locul firului rosu gros din schema.

A lot of work for something that you can buy off the shelf for under $8.00usd. If anyone needs a good USB load tester get the RuiDeng LD25/LD35 that measures up to 5A and 7A or HD25/HD35 that has the built in QC 2.0, 3.0 trigger.

hi. I've added the schematic in the video description.
@tmburns45 жыл бұрын
Awesome video! Complete beginner here, trying to decode your schematic: is there really nothing attached to the negative lead of the voltage meter? Or is that the current meter? My voltage meter has three wires for the voltage and two thick wires for current.
@Sorin_DIY5 жыл бұрын
hi. the thin black wire is for powering the volt/ammeter. but if you power the volt/ammeter from the same source that you measure, you don't need to connect both black wires. the volt/ammeter will take the supply negative from the thick black wire. but if you supply the voltmeter from a different source than the one you measure, then you connect both black wires. the thin one to the voltmeter supply voltage and the thick one to the voltage you want to measure.

Loving your videos. You should buy a proper soldering iron and use flux or rosin core tin!
@neutronpcxt3727 жыл бұрын
It is a proper soldering iron. Look at the chain comments up there. Edit: Never said it was appropriate though.
@-bru-NO7 жыл бұрын
You have little to no experience soldering SMD or small TH components, do you? that's not a proper soldering iron. Not much to explain, really, even though he likes it, he can do 100 times better with a proper pencil-like iron and good flux, I guarantee you. No need to go for Weller or Hakko irons, i'm not an etilist, but that gun iron... ughhhh
@neutronpcxt3727 жыл бұрын
I do have experience THT soldering. It is a pain in the ass with a big tip. I personally have a TS100 and a Daniu PX988, and they are so good for the money. I never said his soldering iron was adequate for the job though. I'm just saying it is one, a Russian one too haha.

How to connect data wires and where to connect? I don't understand
@Sorin_DIY6 жыл бұрын
the data wires are just 2 simple wires, connected from the 2 data pins (middle pins) of the USB connector, to the 2 middle pins of the USB port. they act just like an extension for the data pins, from the USB connector to the USB port.

Which one can i use, 20w 100 ohm or 20w 4.7 ohm???
@keithking19855 жыл бұрын
Use the 20watt 4.7omh the other resistors are limiting the led current!! that's all.
@keithking19855 жыл бұрын
But 5volts over 5ish omh's is round 1amp. If there is a switch that can make them parallel you will get 2amp's load. Very handy👌
