DIY Vanity Mirror Under $100

Here is how we made my DIY vanity mirror. I know vanity mirrors can be quite expensive but they don't have to be. We made this mirror a little under $100 dollars. Things you will need to make your DIY mirror:
1.Mirror of your choice I got mine at Walmart $29.
2.Lamp wire: $8-$10 www.lowes.com/p...

4. Light Bulbs
5: Drill
6: Hole Saw

can you explain alittle more about the stand. I have a mirror and lights but I want to make it stand on its own and not attached to the wall but not sure how to do that. Great tutorial!

Kindly Kiana go to Lowes or Home depot and buy 2-3 pieces of 1X2 wood (3 if you want a part that covers the top of your mirror) -------------- they are anywhere from 1-3 dollars. you might have to cut the wood, it just depends on the size of your mirror. if you don't already have some buy small nails and a few right angle braces to connect the mirror and the wooden board together. I attached a link to what the braces look like. I love it! Ive done mostly everything except the holes for the sockets! I can't seem to find one of those hole things to make the holes, where did you get yours??

Paola Cardona to turn it on & off I have to plug and unplug it. You could always customize your mirror to have an on and off switch I have seen a few DIY vanity mirror videos that have done that.

Amy Torres you get a regular plug wire like for example an extension cord and cut it with the plug than connect them. Idk if that helped you

It’s a lot easier to just buy $13 string bulb lights then to wire and install all that but still look good...

The mirror is plastic. When I bought it, i thought it was wood but if you have a good drill and hole saw it shouldn't be a problem!

Just a little tip it might be a little easier to find a mirror that is already white. That way you can skip the painting step.

Hey Jocelyn! I tried find the link to the exact mirror but I couldn't find it. The dimensions are 32x40 though. Anissa commented above and said she used a mirror like this one and the light bulbs started melting her mirrors it might be a better idea to use a mirror made out of wood

We didn't use anything to cover the back, my mirror is against a wall so you can't see the back.

I used the same exact mirror to make mine and my mirror started to melt. Did you have this problem? How many watts were your lightbulbs?
