Brilliant!!! Easy to follow and successfully assembled. And buying the cutter was a great move!! I have lots of blankets, so I didn't have to but any. $100 out the door!! Thank you for posting this with all the dimensions. So excited to start recording and producing music!! Thanks again!

@@CorkDawg so easy!! Using it already. I tested my guitar out in the booth acoustically instead of plugging it in. It sounded awesome!!! So present and authentic sounding. Thanks again!!!

@@CorkDawgHow well does that work?

It works pretty well for getting the room reverb out while recording, especially for vocals. Way better than not using anything at all. I also used the foam attachment CODN Recording Microphone Isolation Shield for my microphone: amzn.to/2Y6tN1E which also helped a bunch too in combination with the vocal booth.

Got my shopping carts ready and all has come in at just over £117! I decided on 3 of the large blankets. Anyone got any information on ease & speed of setting up/taking down for storage? and thank you so much for this video. Been searching for a walkthrough and this is perfect 🥰

You're welcome Jade, I'm glad it was helpful. It doesn't take that long to set up, especially if you bought the blanket clips and ended up sewing the Velcro on the blankets. I would say less than 10 minutes to setup and less than 10 minutes to tear down for storage. I use vaccum bags to suck the air out of the blankets so they don't take up much space.

Nice job! Thanks, I'm going to build a booth like this. Just wondering if it's not wide enough.

Thanks Joseph, glad it was helpful. Well it depends on what you are using it for. If it is just vocals, I felt it was wide enough. I did try to record an acoustic guitar in there and that was a little cramped. But I didn't have much issues for just the vocals. I picked that size because I had limited space in my room. You can surely add another foot or two to the width, but it might require some changes to my plan, such as more blankets and more pipes. Good luck, hope it turns out well for you.

Not for noise, just only for echo.

Yea that's true. I sort of misspoke in the video... Doesn't really block out much noise, just room reverb.

can you rate from 1 to 10 the sound isolation, how soundproof this booth really is? Will My neighbor hear me?
@CorkDawg
@CorkDawg Жыл бұрын
It is not really made to keep sound in, it is more to keep reverb from getting into the recording from the room. So It might dampen the noise a little, but you would need many more blankets to make it sound proof. I would say it might help with a 3 level from 1 to 10... that is just my guess though.

Putting metal rings on plastic is noise just waiting to happen. Either you need to cover your pvc with cloth up top so the rings don't slide directly on the plastic, OR just do the simple thing and get/make cloth rings.

Those are some valid points. I haven't really had too many issues hearing noise from the metal with just singing so far. But what you are saying does make sense!

Quick Question: Does it matter if I use SDR-26 PVC pipe or Schedule 40? SDR-26 is less expensive than Schedule 40, but I don't want to purchase it unless I know it will serve the same purpose. Anyone? Bueller?
@CorkDawg
@CorkDawg 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Andrew, good question... Both should work, in fact I used the SDR-26 because it was cheaper and could be bought in longer lengths at Lowes where I bought it. The Schedule 40 will be more sturdy and fit into the elbow and tee joints better. However, the SDR-26 worked for me well enough to use as a vocal booth. It holds the blankets fine and fits in the connections well enough to work. Just seems to be a little thinner walled pipe... Hope that helps.
