I am 100% responsible for my hair maintenance, so I do my own knotless braids, etc. I’m paying for my microloc installation because I want to ensure the consistency of my locs as well as the parting. I PLAN to maintain them myself after the installation. Thank you for this video because I wasn’t sure if I was being overcharged for my installation.

I was quoted $3600 for 10 inches of hair, I don't think I've ever been so salty 😂. At least now I know there is cheaper sister loctions out there.

Yes! I've never seen more than $1500 or so for the HIGHEST loctician in my area, but things tend to be cheaper here in the South.

The longer your hair, on top of density is what drives the cost up. Also tackle on location & the expertise of that loctician.

I am in Cleveland, Ohio. I have microlocs that look VERY similar to Sisterlocs. I have 421 locs!! My loctian happens to be one of my best friends so I did get the friend discount🙌 but her normal rate is $650-$800 depending on the hair differences. $125 per retie (again I get the friend discount on this too🙌) lol. I go every 5-6 weeks but I am going to learn to do my own retie just because I think that I should know how to maintain my own hair just in case I get to a point where maybe my finances might change or if she isnt able to get me in. Or just to do touch ups along the perimeter as needed. She does encourge her clients to learn how to do interlocking and will be teaching classes soon.

@@LocsSoFine Thank you luv! Yes girl! Soo thankful for the friend discount lol...Im finding it pretty easy so far. I've only retied my nape area but I think I did well. There are some really great YT tutorials on the process. I plan to let her do my reties for my full one year (June 12th next year) and I will prob do my own perimeter touch ups in between and then I will continue maintaining them myself moving forward.

I did my own locs. I love them. Idc about a grid. Took me 12 hours over 3 days because I did them myself 😂. I went to a “pro” and she wanted to cut and rip and I paid $50 just to tell her no because she didn’t want to listen to me. I ended up doing my own retie but that trusting them is serious. I love the way my locs are. 9 months in. 3/24

I did my dIY microloc two months ago, but I went to this lady to help me with the reti. She said it will cost me $500 for reti🤣I almost died

@@LocsSoFine No, my hair just grow real fast. She would had to reti 1 inch and half of hair and I have 425 miclocs. My hair is also thin

I paid 1200 for 12-13” of hair. I have 300 two strand twists microlocs and it took my loctition 11 hours. She’s the only one in my area. She told me it would’ve been double the price for sister locs. I chose microlocs because of the price and the strict maintenance that I couldn’t keep up with. My reties are 150.every5 weeks. She’s ok with me eventually doing my own reties.

Wow, that's a lot. Where are you? I'm in Arkansas, so the cost of living tends to be lower down here overall. Mine are interlocks and I have 512. Did your $1200 include the consultation and a retie like the sisterlocks do?

Out here in Northern California they charge $1,000 for installation for shoulder length hair and $250 for retightening for like 3-4 then $35-$50 for additional hours of service so it's a costly investment that's sisterlocks, I think micro locks are a little less expensive but not much less both take a lot of time but very pretty.

It depends on your location, the LOCTICIANS, expertise, your hair density, etc. but I paid $800 for 10-12 inches.
