Great job on the details of the install. Thanks. The brackets to connect the dryer to the washer answered my question about why doesn't it move while traveling. The strap is a good idea and I think I will add it to mine too. Thanks again.

I'm getting ready to do this on my own fifth wheel. Really wanted to see the process for the dryer vent before I did it. Thank you, excellent video!

Great video. I'm sure that I'll be putting a setup in a Raptor 352 that my wife and I just became the owners of! I particularly liked the way that you used your drill on the inside to probe for any supports, etc.. The inside access door was a good idea as well.

Congrats on your new purchase, get out and start enjoying it. In all honesty I went to KZbin University before doing the project. lol! I found several videos that each depicted a piece, but none completely specific; I tried my best to cover everything. Hope it helps and maybe we’ll run across you guys out there someday. Safe travels

Great job! Thank you for showing how and why you did your install the way you did. I appreciate the thought you put into it. I've watched 10 or more videos and I would put your's in the top 3! Do you like the Splendide? Dislikes? Do you have any pointers on how to use it? We are looking at getting the vented combo set up. Thanks again.
@retiredandrollin3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Love the way they work. Dislike, not really, but a word of advice to those interested in this model or style, It may apply to combo's also, As in all front loading washing machines, it is recommend to keep the door slightly ajar to prevent mold and musky smells. In other words, since its built to be air tight, after use its important to allow the inside to dry thoroughly. My wife purchased a $12 amazon front loader latch which solves this issue easily. Hope this helps.

Ive often thought about how to get to the vent on the dryer. Almost impossible. Ive thought zbout cutting a hole in the closet wall but was undecided how to finish it off. Great idea. Thx. Can you give me the size of the door and where you got it please. Are you happy with the size?

Sorry for the delay. I purchased the door, it’s plastic and very inexpensive, on Amazon. For the life of me I cannot find it on my purchase items, in very sorry. If you type access door in the search bar it will be a start. My door is 12” x 8” and it’s plenty big. Super easy access. Hopes this helps

Thank you for making this!! It was the best WD Install video I’ve seen! I have 2 really dumb questions for whoever wants to answer it. How on earth can you fit the WD through the door of the rv??? No one ever shows that! I had a lady at an RV service place tell me that a replacement fridge would have to go through a window!! That’s not true is it?
@retiredandrollin Жыл бұрын
Thank you, I’m glad it helped. Note to answer your question. Both the washer and dryer fit through the front door with ease. My buddy and I used carry straps thinking it would help but they really weren’t needed, it went right through. As for a refrigerator replacement, I can not speak intelligently on that because I’ve never had to do it. But if I did I would first start off by removing the two front door then try sideways, if that doesn’t work then maybe a window is a true statement. Hope this helps

Hello I’m trying to remove the dryer in my Montana to get the washer out. How is the rear of the dryer attached to the stacking bracket? With the three front screws removed the dryer still doesn’t move.
@mannymiranda93222 жыл бұрын
Once you’ve removed the 3 screws pull the dryer slightly forward as the back is attached in a hook bracket method. Sorry for delay, just saw this.

I have the exact same make, model, and year 5th wheel. I am planning to install the same unit. Your video was a huge help. Great job with it. Question for you. Which tank does the washer drain go to? Gray, black, or directly out to the sewer line. Thanks for a very detailed video!

Great job. I am going to install these in my Arcadia. Did you put a leak pan in? Thinking about adding one with a battery powered sensor. Also can you add a link to the access door I think that was brilliant.
@retiredandrollin3 жыл бұрын
Yes, If you go to the 28th through the end of the 29th minute or so of the video you get a brief look, it's quick, that I did install a drip pan. However, the pan I selected has a 1" lip on the back and both sides not the front. I picked that one so that we will see the water immediately and not pool too long. We don't ever leave the washer running without us there, just in case. I don't have the link but it was from amazon (plastic access door) fairly inexpensive. Oh, and thank you, yes I prefer working smarter than harder, there's no room to move around over top of the dryer so the access door was a must.

did you find info for drilling the vent hole? (if so where) I all so have a Montana. I have read some are marked form the factory. Mine is not
@mannymiranda93222 жыл бұрын
The only info I found and followed was from KZbin and others that have done the same work. Mine was marked, so I started there, but treaded slowly as many warned that these markings are often wrong. There is no wiring in that part of the wall, so just drill pilot holes IN THE INTERIOR WALL, not all the way through of course. You’re basically looking for metal studs. Once you find your spot then measure again to avoid front cap joints and if you’re as picky as me, decals. Once the first ALL THE WAY THROUGH PILOT HOLE is drilled, you have room to adjust keeping that first pilot hole within the diameter of your son to be bent hole. Hope this helps.

How do you secure the washer to the floor?
@retiredandrollin6 ай бұрын
They do sell clips to lock in the front adjustable legs of the washer, I opted not to drill into the floor or anywhere else for that matter. By attaching the dryer to the washer I thought would be enough. It wasn’t. I did an update video and if I find it I’ll let you know so you can check it out. In other words, I had to do something additional which securing the washer to the floor wouldn’t have mitigated the issue, so far the update is the way to go. Let me look for that video
@retiredandrollin6 ай бұрын
If interested the video regarding the Washer install update is on my channel title “2023 Off Season Project #1”. I’m not embarrassed to say my original install was good, but I should have done it like this from the start. Hope this video clarifies a few things and helps you out.

What about the drain did you have to remove any covers for it to drain?
@mannymiranda93223 жыл бұрын
Nope. My rig was plummed for washer and dryer from factory. Basically, with the exception of the air vent hole, the access panel that I made and the door removal for East access, it was all plug and play. Hope this helps

@@mannymiranda9322 I heard from another person when they installed a washing machine when it drained for the first time it flooded. Which made me wonder why that happened and if a cap had to be removed or the water would not drain and come back up. Have not installed my washing machine which is a portable washing machine because I'm afraid of the water coming back up!
@retiredandrollin3 жыл бұрын
@@bea1604 Not sure what type of system they had. I do know for a fact that the drain does NOT come plugged from factory. Chances are that when they ran their washer for the first time they had their grey tank drain CLOSED. That will of course cause the system to flood; your valves need to be opened while in use. good luck
