DIY Wax Paper Technique for Card Making, Junk Journals and Paper Crafts

This was one of the most awesome ideas I have watched. Going to get some beeswax tomorrow..thank you so very much. I love your projects you showed. I am going to use this a JJ I want to make my 97 year old mom. Does this work on a photograph of best on a paper printed one.?

@fontellahenderson2016 Hi Fontella, When we came across this process from a few videos posted about 5 - 7 years ago, we too thought it was a great idea. We love the feel of the paper, not greasy, like the baby oil method. We have not tried it on photographs but we would think it would be good to scan and print your photos on to copy paper and then use the wax method. Remember that it doesn't take much wax, use it sparingly for best results. You will be able to see the transparency start as you are working with it. Cool project!! If using an iron, would you have to use parchment paper or a towel or something over what you’ve waxed?

Wonderful idea and beautiful projects. Thanks for sharing. One word of caution, while it is rare, some people who are allergic to bees are also allergic to bees wax. More common is that some people are only allergic to bee wax. Make sure if using bees wax. If you sell items that contain bees wax, be sure to put a warning label and warning also in listing that this project contains bees wax. It protects the person who is allergic and protects you from a lawsuit. Many years back, in the 1990s, I made and sold dreamcatchers. I always put a warning on them that stated this product contained bees wax to protect the consumer from a possible allergic reaction and myself from a lawsuit. .

I know you tried this technique with baby oil and there was an issue with the oil residue after a while. I like the bees wax idea, but did you ever try petroleum jelly or clear shoe polish, if what were your results? Thank you for this video, really enjoyed it. Does this only work on copy paper

@lindaschireson6912. Hi Linda, We have only tried it on copy paper. We are going to experiment with this process on other papers in the future. It seems to work best on the cheapest copy paper. We tried it (by accident) on premium copy paper and the results were not as good. It is basically just a trial and error process to find out what we can do with it. If you try it on other mediums be sure to let us know how they turn out. ❤😊
