Daniel, Santa brought me a new tig welder. I played with it a bit to check the functions, but Santa says no more tig welding until after Christmas. Now I have 2 welders and one cart. What a dilemma! I've been watching your videos since the garage build and enjoy watching you learning and filling up that new garage. Merry Christmas, my friend....

Hello my friend . . . I think I know what your next project will be . . .lol. Congrats on the Tig machine . . . I hope it was a PrimeWeld brand. The 225x has rave reviews. Merry Christmas to you and yours as well. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the ideas. I weld zinc plated nuts, bolts, washers, etc. all the time. But first I soak them in hydrochloric acid to strip off the zinc. (muriatic acid) Otherwise you get some really nasty fumes when welding. If you then give them a coat of phosphoric acid, it will create a thin layer of iron phosphate that prevents rust and paints over really well.

I appreciate the latch for your bottle vs. using a chain. This is good fabrication.

Love it Daniel. Better welding cart than mine I suppose. Mine doesn’t have enough drawer space for everything. I made end up doing what you did someday when I have more room.

This is great. I've done the same thing. I made a cart from a Harbor Freight chest. I looked at ZTFab kits, and I thought it was stupid to pay $310 for a kit I still had to weld and paint, plus around $260 for the chest. Also, I don't think ZTFab kits are very good. They put a lot of new stress on the original threaded holes on tool chests, and they don't hold a lot. My chest has zero new stress on it, and I have maybe 200 pounds of bottles on it. If ZTFab is going to charge that kind of money for a few pieces of steel, they should weld them together and paint them, and the designs should be better. I get the impression the company is buying off KZbin pros by giving them free kits as long as they make videos promoting them. You might want to think about ventilation. Your welders need some air around them so the fans can get at it.

Hello My Friend . . . I almost purchased a ZTFab kit and had the same thoughts as you. Found a cheaper tool box and I had the angle iron already. Thank you for the ventilation idea . . . appreciate your comments and suggestions. Have a happy Fourth Holiday Sir!
