Arrow root powder or cornstarch can be used to make it less greasy. I made a sample batch recently and maybe because my kitchen was hot, I could see the oil separating from the butter so I placed my containers in the fridge for a few minutes and it really improved my consistency. My whipped shea butter is like whip cream.

Isopropyl Myristate is not heat sensitive. It can just be added in the heat phase. It's not volatile or anything. Just a tip
@YayaDIYCreations4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yes, it’s safe for cold or hot process. When it’s my first time using an ingredient, I like to test it from all angles to see how it reacts with the product. I will definitely be experimenting with it more with creams, lotions, and more body butters. Thanks for the tip 😊💜

Great job Yaya! ... Suggestion - to prevent butter from looking used upon opening the jar, maybe pipe the contents in with a disposable piping bag, so that nothing touches the sides of the jar; and it will leave that 'whipped curl' on the surface of the Butter! Thumbs up ... Fantastic products you've created!

I like both. It will be about preference. In glass, the is a higher chance that your product will be easily effected by the outside temperatures. Adding liquids oils helps to loosen or make the solid butters more pliable and easier to use. I hope this helps. 💜

They both look amazing! Question: Can u please explain to me the use of dimethicone in hair butter. I find that sometimes the diy hair butter doesn't feel soft n smooth on super coarse n coily 4c hair.
@YayaDIYCreations4 жыл бұрын
I have used dimethicone in some formulations and it gives such a beautiful smooth feel to conditioners, shampoos, and more. It adds a lot of slip and smooth feel to products. People avoid it because it’s Silicone based. But I recommend you do your research and make your own decision. Silicones can provide a breathable film to the skin that can help condition the skin and hair and act as an emollient to prevent moisture loss. However, some people feel that it can cause build up and dryness. I believe it depends on the person. Some people have sensitive skin, scalp, and hair and should be more cautions with all ingredients. I hope this helps some 💜
