The chipped look is amazing. New technique to me. I just made a shutter / window pane and I already painted them. Do you know if I could go back and do the chipped look on top of the paint i already did? Or will it mess it up because it was fully coated?
@MommaFromScratch6 жыл бұрын
Thanks, yes you can it would give it more character,

My mantle is a lil back set behind our wood burning stove. I would love some of your ideas to help me decorate it. Love this frame can't wait as I so want to try making one. TFS xoxox
@MommaFromScratch6 жыл бұрын
I would decorate it the same with it being flush besides not having anything hang down and catch fire you know:)
@conniescreations16336 жыл бұрын
Momma From Scratch oh okay, oh no can't catch fire . Mantel sits behind our wood Burning stove and about 3 plus feet away we recently remodeled and left the wood panel and so gald we did. Maybe one day on my channel I will film it , haven't posted in awhile miss it. Thank you for your reply xoxox

i haven't done crackle in so many years it was big in the 90s. I have always loved it. This is awesome, but you should have showed the end look a bit longer. great job. i think i use glue to crackle back in the day. glad there is another option.

So cute! I just finished making the window frame and staining it an espresso color... I want to paint white over the top and use the chippy paint method you used. Will it work ok over the stain or should I paint it a dark color first like you did?
@MommaFromScratch4 жыл бұрын
It’s should be fine if you use the chippy glaze on it. I would test it out on a small scrap wood and see
@MommaFromScratch4 жыл бұрын
The bottom layer should matter since it’s set anyways
@Kriztin804 жыл бұрын
Momma From Scratch Thank you! One more question for ya, if that’s ok... where can I find the glaze?
@ras85344 жыл бұрын
I don't have a kreg jig, can I use wood glue or another attachment method?
@TheMelanieGrace6 жыл бұрын
About how long did this entire project take you? Is it doable with a toddler running around?
@MommaFromScratch6 жыл бұрын
the painting took the longest maybe 30 minutes with all the cuts ad screws. yes I have two boys you can do it
@GlueGunsRoses6 жыл бұрын
HELP 😣 I just tried this but it didn't turn out right. Does it matter the brand of petroleum jelly or type of paint? Or maybe I didn't put the petroleum jelly on thick enough? Yours turned out so pretty 😭😭😭
@MommaFromScratch6 жыл бұрын
oh im sorry. I like a good amount of jelly to get bigger strips. try sanding some more.
@tanyaakins44924 ай бұрын
Trying to do it with a big Pic frame
@beckylynn2094 жыл бұрын
So why did you use both petroleum jelly and the crackle paint? I'm confused.. 😶
@SimpsonAcres6 жыл бұрын
Where do you get the little kreig jig??
@MommaFromScratch6 жыл бұрын
lows, they have a few options, mine was about $10 bucks i think but they go up to 100s depending on the options you get

I don’t have any power tools and my husband is NOT handy at all. Do u think I could make this just using a heavy glue like E6000?
@MommaFromScratch6 жыл бұрын
I would get L brackets or strainght line brackets at the store and use a screw driver by hand .
