I’ll most likely never do a feature length production, but this idea would come in handy to avoid my usual shot framing dance. my main camera is my aging Samsung phone (which, btw, I attach to the tripod using those dollar store cellphone spring clips you recommended long ago). my other two cameras are even more elderly Canon Vixias. being solo, my process for framing the shot is to: set camera to photo with a 10 second timer dash around to where I’ll be sitting/standing, wait to hear it take the pic back around to check the pic adjust tripod lather, rinse, repeat since I also own a Samsung tablet, I’m going to play around with them to see if I can make them do this trick. thanks for lots of good tips all this time. and for presenting them so clearly.

I always learn some-thing from watching your "Frugal" DIY videos! I am just now about to build the "$30 Frugal Camera Jib", and given inflation, it will be more. But! I have decided to try that QR plate and adapter from this video on my build; still $11.99 on Ebay! Thanks, Scott!

Thanks so much for being there for me from day one on my journey in film / video. You were there about 9-10 years ago when I was starting out as frugally as possible and you showed me how to make slider, camera cage, stands, etc when I had zero budget beyond buying an entry level camera (Nikon D3200) and a Zoom H1. We now shoot on Blackmagic, with full audio and lighting rig. I just want you to know how much your sharing meant and influenced me at the start. Thank you! :)

Awesome rig. I have a terrible time trying to hang on to my tablet. I use the Filmic Pro Remote app to frame shots and start/stop my camera. I'm, building this rig this week! Can't wait for #BadBonesMovie!!

I am a long term follower and would pay to follow you on your quest for film industry respect (I may have overstepped my fanboy role). I suggest that you provide a way for your "crew" to fund your work. I think when you have daily content you sell subscriptions for others to look over your shoulder. We would have a seat on the front row during creation which would be amazing!

@@frugalfilmmaker I know with the benefit (or blessing, curse?) of the years I have been given, that the journey is the biggest part of any adventure. This is your time to soar. You have been there, done that , have chops. Time for you to have the full experience of a wild success, on a much bigger stage. I see this for you: a teacher of the "budget cinema full stack". This would be a "Master Class" type of format but done "on the cheap". With no or "low code" tools and with a check list of the resources, human and otherwise, that every budget filmmaker would need. Along with brainpower and a little money or the skill to find it. You could also have one episode on how to get some seed cash. You are almost doing this now, without the branding, but not enough élan. Sell subscriptions for this and see how it goes. I think the broad media could pick this up. Set aside 15 minutes today to do this and you will get over whatever hump about it you may have.. I will be your first customer. Regards, Bob
