$80 BUDGET DIY Directors Monitor For Filmmakers (Budget Large Field Monitor)
Adding this Budget Large Field Monitor is one of the best bits of filmmaking equipment I've decided to add to my kit to level up my commercial productions without spending a lot of money in doing so.
It allows everyone on set to feel involved by being able to look at the DIY director's monitor, and also makes it insanely easy to review shots after without having to crowd around a tiny monitor.

That's quite and ingenious solution! A couple of times, when I knew I would be shooting mostly on sticks, I've used a TV or a laptop, both as a director's monitor and a talent's vanity. I've found that people that are not used to be filmed are be more at ease if they can see themselves and the framing.

Yeah absolutely! I've found it super useful with my product commercials, especially with like plugging things into power sockets, or trying to place products down.

Don't want to be a party breaker, but wireless stuff is costing over 700 $, so this isn't a 80$ setup. But very good idea using NP-F750

Thats is the same with all directors monitors :) This is talking about the monitor itself

Anyone who thought this would be $80 including a wireless transmission system of any kind is certainly in for a shock... but realistically, I never thought this would be an "$80 director's monitor *complete setup* including mount, power, stand, and wireless TX/RX" from the title, I just thought "oh cool, a serviceable $80 screen for on-set monitoring!" And of course, you don't need everything to be wireless in order to use a monitor. You could just set it up near the camera on sticks with a long-ish HDMI cable.

Great video!! not $80 at all though lol I love it! btw your transition sound, that FLASH sound is amazing, that is exactly what i looked for on ARTLIST and Splice, where did you get that sound????

Awesome thank you! The core component (monitor is) because no matter what directors monitor you go with, you still need all the other accessories anyway. I honestly can't remember where I sourced that sound sorry. Was like a decade ago.

so the title of this video is called $80 DIY Directors Monitor for filmmakers when the it is literally referring to JUST the monitor, but not the director's monitor as a whole unit since the wireless receiver and transmitter is $400, just to start out the gate making this a director's monitor...

So you don't have to get a step up power converter. From 12v they jump to 19v

Every wireless directors monitor needs all the wireless accessories and power. I'm talking about just the monitor.

I disagree. I never thought this would be an "$80 build including wireless transmission system" based on the title. I can see how that would be disappointing, but I see the monitor and the transmission system as separate items unless you're using something from SmallHD with Teradek RX built in. And that would cost way, way more than the entirety of this setup including the TX/RX, battery, monitor, mount, stand, and everything else.
