You'll be fine, just don't skip the towels to protect the paint, and make sure the alignments good before closing the first time

Good informative video! Looks like very easy job. Unfortunately on my 14' ML350 it is lot more complicated hinge to reinstall. It comes apart as 2 halves and nuts are inside the door and kick panel. Its clicking a little bit when you open/close slow. I believe same type of hinges are on W212, W218. Sucks part is they are not serviceable like Mercedes used to make them before... (just holes for lubrication)

Eww, hardware inside the door? Why do manufacturers do that lol? I guess the irony there is that they share the same platform. I agree about being able to service parts, what happened to good old zerk fittings?

I tried grease and didn’t want to use WD40 because of the smell(I used it on my Jeep Liberty), and it only smoothed it a little bit. I guess it has to be replaced. Thanks for the vid.

My rear passenger side door on the latch side sticks out maybe 2-3mm. Would loosening the bolts on the hinge give me the wiggle room to get that nice tight seal so the door lines up with the rear quarter panel.

I had the DS hinge replaced on my ‘18 Limited. Now the PS hinge is beginning to sound like that. I owned a ‘12 Laredo with the same problem. So what I did was drill a small hole in it then pumped it full of grease.

Yes essentially it degrades inside, it can pop and make it very hard to move compared to when new

There are 2 hinges on each door on my Charger RT 5.7 2007. Shall I replace both since my doors never remains opens (very annoying when the doors close on their own and dont stay open) ? Thank you for the tutorial. What is the part number by the way ?

They only one that pops in the shopping loaded one, other is usually fine. Check the part number on the description and see if it fits other models

2019 Jeep grand Cherokee my driver door has been doing this for sometime and it is driving me nuts. Jeep wants a minimum of $600 to make this repair but when I open my door, I see two hinges on the top one on the bottom, how do we know which hinge is the needed replacement hinge

I feel your pain. I replaced a few cracked rims. Nearly every non cracked Mercedes rim is still bent. Their best option is to upgrade to Forge rims. Stay 19 with some side wall. If you're an oem guy, the oem split spokes are forged otherwise I'd recommend a company like BC forged.

@@akinsehinwabankole3457 if you have the same Wheels as I have, those are the 10 spoke that are week. It's the five spokes that are forged and apparently very strong. So actually what I did with my car as I bought an after-market set of wheels from a company called variant. The wheels are about six hundred each, but they have a road hazard warranty included which lets you get replacement Wheels half off. The wheels are flow forged, which are pretty strong

I just used a wire to hang it up and rattle can it. Mine was black, very easy to match, if you have a different color, sometimes you can just buy those very small cans they sell at places like AutoZone that match your color. It's such a hidden piece it doesn't have to be that close

They have been doing this a long time. Since the 2012. This is intentional to keep the manufacturers busy. Otherwise Jeep would find another supplier.

It's a 1/2 inch, NOT 13mm. You will risk stripping the bolts using 13mm.

100% every bolt is metric on Chrysler vehicles. It is 13mm, no doubt .look at the service manual. Having said that, 13mm is SMALLER that 1/2. Meaning, 1/2 is looser and more likely to strip

2017 Grand Cherokee, no doubt, 100% these bolts are 1/2”. 13mm is also not smaller than 1/2”, you have that backwards. Otherwise, great video!
