I've watched a few carpenters make this star. Your explanation was so much clearer and easier to understand. Thank you I've made 3 so far and they came out great.

Aren't the fingers too close to the blade at 1:44. I would use a clamp to hold the 45 degree block and a jig for the 1x2

Did they get chopped off? If not, then no they weren't too close.

@@johnlockesghost5592curious,,,,are you a carpenter or a woodworker? Ever heard of thing called KICKBACK? rule of thumb when working around spinning blades....if you can extend your closest finger(or thumb) to the spinning blade then your hand is far to close. They way she used the miter saw was scary...you NEVER cut from the back and pull the blade towards you as that's the direction the blade is turning, in doing so you risk a kickback which CAN and WILL pull your hand into the blade before you realize what's going on and as such loose a finger or worse an entire hand. Push blocks/sticks and jigs that keep your fingers away from the blade and safe are a woodworkers best friend. Yeah she didn't loose a finger THIS TIME,,,but why risk it? A jig is cheaper to make then a trip to the ER.

Thanks for the shoutout! My wife and I were watching, she loves what you did with the star. Ya'll made the cuts perfect and I like how you taped them while the glue dried. I've subscribed, keep up the good work!

I am totally obsessed with them all! Where did you happen to get those tiny succulents and moss from?
@diylilyardor34354 жыл бұрын
YAY! Glad to hear you liked them all! I got the moss from Michaels craft store and the succulents from hobby lobby. I love their selection of succulent way more than Michaels.

Will the angles 18 and 36 remain the same if u increase the length of each piece from say 10 inches to 20 inches?
@kevinpawpadawgmoore8175Ай бұрын
Yes.... As long as each piece is the same length. Can also do it with wider boards as well, I made a couple out of 2x4's....👍

I tried... I have not managed to form the star because I think that some cut was not done well.
@kevinpawpadawgmoore8175Ай бұрын
Check your miter saw at 90° to be sure it is square,,,,if not then your angles will off as well,,,,1 degree can make them not align properly, what I have done is slightly sanded where the angles were touching to draw the gap closed. Hope that helps
