Thanks, you are SO helpful (as always)! Would this be OK for packaging melt-and-pour soaps? I've been scrupulous about completely sealing mine (sealing the celloohane bag closed with a heat gun) but when I gift my soaps the recipients can't really smell the fragrance until they rip off the packaging. I'd like to try this presentation but don't know if that tiny opening will allow enough moisture in to make the M&P sweat. Also, just as a little tip: if you tie the bow with the first side going UNDER instead of OVER, the finished bow will lay perfectly horizontally instead of canting a little diagonally (I know I'm not explaining it very well; it's a trick I saw a long time ago on "how to tie your shoes RIGHT.)
@DeanWilson6 жыл бұрын
I use this same method now for my melt and pour soaps, except I use a small white rubber band to seal the top. This makes it really easy to seal the soaps and quick for the customer to get the soap out. It also allows them to stretch the rubber band apart to smell before buying. Does not effect the soap sweating at all.

Hi Dean! I have a question...I've seen in the comments that your bars do not sweat and that you do not shrink wrap them....is it because of the type of base you use or is it simply that the packaging it is good enough to keep humidity away?
@DeanWilson6 жыл бұрын
The bags I use are 100mm x 150mm plastic bags. I put a rubber band at the top to seal it and I wrap it around about 4-5 times. This protects it from the air so they dont sweat. If I leave them out they will. I found wrapping it shrink wrap made it hard for the customer to open then. Some even said they need to cut the package with a knife to get them out. So these bags make it easier.

@DeanWilson7 жыл бұрын
The fragrance is listed on the front. But I should add it to the ingredients too. Your right.
@Whichofthefavors7 жыл бұрын
I only mentioned this because over in the US, if the fragrance and color is not listed in the ingredients, a lot of people will get into trouble. I am sure you can just list 'Fragrance' and 'Mica' in the ingredients perhaps. If you think about it, many products we use have 'Fragrance' listed in their ingredients and not the actual scent they use as these are business secrets and everyone has the right to keep their recipes a secret. As for colorant, you could probably write 'Mica' or the color code. What do you think? I could be wrong lol
